Looks nice, but with only 1 car on track, you can obviously spend more resources on how it looks. Would have been very interested to see how they would have handled 22 cars on track at the same time.

I'll take that bet. It's common knowledge Sony had Polyphony Digital working on 3 or so extra projects during GT5 development which increased the development time for the game. On top of which GT6 has the benefit of being the second on the Ps3. GT7 has probablly been being worked on by a part of the team since GT5 release with most of the team now shifiting focus on GT7. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a GT7:P next year (or March 2015)... and hey, why not? GT5:P probably funded the entire GT5 project and some of GT6. And then GT7 full game being released no later than March 2016.


Wait a second. 

People complain here and every forum about not releasing a product till its ready. Driveclub, Watchdogs etc. 

Gran Turismo 5 and 6 have less than half of the content as a Ps3 modeled game. The rest is a Ps2 HD game. Is that acceptable? Is that wat you expect of GT7? From the finish of GT4 to the release of GT6 is 8 years and 8 months. Thats nearly 4 years and 6 months for eac GT5 and GT6 development time. And thats for more than half of the content as last generation models in HD and Tracks. 

Now Polyphony have to build a new engine, redo all the PS2 modeled stuff to at least PS3 level or risk GT getting 1's and 2's from reviewers and thats without even deciding what cars and tracks to make into PS4 models. 

 

Turn 10 played with 1 mill poly model cars in Autovista Forza 4. These were to see how cars would look and feel in next gen. Its taken Turn 10 with more employees than Polyhony 3 years to build the Xbox One assests for Forza 5. They chose not to include 360 assests to cheapen the look of the game. Just to say they have more content. 3 years to develop 200 Xbox One grade cars and 14 Xbox One grade tracks. The entire engine is a brand new Xbox One engine. 

So GT7 next year or 2015 ? Only if they have PS2 models, PS3 models and 50 - 100 PS4 models and maybe 5-6 PS4 modeled tracks. 

Actually Polyphony could bring out GT7 Prologue Xmas 2015 and GT7 out in 2017 Xmas. Tat would make GT7 Prologue 50 Premium cars and 5 tracks. Then GT7 release 2017 with 200 PS4 premium cars etc.

Polyphonys problem is they  are now in PS4 generation with there last game still containing PS2 assests. 2 gens behind. It is gonna bite them in the arse this gen.

Stop claiming that in every thread about Forza, you've been banned for the whole GT trashing in a Forza thread before.

The reason for the delays is that the PS3 is very hard to program especially for japanese devs who compared to american and european devs have been struggling with the machine. GT5 was a massive game compared to any Forza so it will take a lot longer.

This time round PD have got the PS4 and development will be way way easier and the machine is more powerful than the X1. So less time will be spent learning or optomizing for it. GT on PS4 will arrive within 2 years of releasing GT6 on PS3. GT 6 will reclaim the throne from Forza 4 in current gen and the next GT will be  a return of form for PD!

In the meantime watch out for Driveclub with IQ way better than Forza 5

Ouch, don't step into a Driving Game thread without a hard hat and flack jacket!!!

Comparing past release schedules to now is kind of irrelevant. Only because we don't know when The GT team really started working on the next gen. I know they said publicly that they just got done with the current title, but that doesn't mean they haven't started work on the car/track modeling for the next gen.



It is near the end of the end....

although it looks pretty. tbh it looks better then GT6 but not much better. I do hate these kinds of racers anyway so screw my opinion!

Looked like F1 game from codemasters but with better resolution.

And that lifeless track, is depressing.

We get it your blinded by Forza and Xbox.

It looks pretty good but not that amazing. Photo realistic??? Some people are easily or biased pleased easily!

When I was a kid, I thought Turok 1 for PC was photorealistic ;)



Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

The biggest difference I see is the clarity of the reflections on the car and in the rear view mirrors. but overall I dont think its a massive leap over current gen.

like Madword said, do these graphics hold when more cars are in the race?
