Man who would have thought years ago when this on rails Kinect game for 360 was announced that it would morph into something this amazing? Still waiting to see some decapitation gifs too. Game is going to be brutal.

The game wasn't announced as an on-rails Kinect game...

This is all they revealed: http://www.ign.com/articles/2010/06/14/e3-2010-codename-kingdoms-unveiled

As I said. Years ago when the game was announced, it wasn't known as an on-rails Kinect game. All we had was that live action trailer and the words "crytek" and "360 exclusive".

Are you sure? Because no matter where I look, Codename:Kingdoms was supposed to be a first-person game for Kinect.

The sources all come up in Spanish, though, but I can pass them if you want.

Graphically for me this is the best looking next gen console game (even if technically that award probably belongs to KZ:SF). Pretty good effort considering it's on the weaker hardware, using a middleware game engine and developed by a 3rd party. Cryengine is a great game engine and Crytek sure know how to make games look pretty.

I knew this was a Selnor thread before clicking.

Currently playing: Witcher 3, Walking Dead S1/2, GTA5, Dying Light, Tomb Raider Remaster, MGS Ground Zeros

Knew this was a Selnor thread too before clicking. Over the top rhetoric about how it's going to be the best thing that's ever existed in the gaming industry for a hack and slash. It's going to be a typical, shallow, mediocre launch game with very little variety, 'ok' but not long lasting fun in multiplayer, minimal story telling or little nuances that really can change the experience entirely with obvious shortcuts being seen across the game.

Just like Killzone Shadowfall.

I really can't think of many launch titles that are actually good games (reviews be damned). Nintendo is the only company I trust with possibly dropping fun, generation long type exclusives at launch. I thought Killzone Shadowfall looked great before I played it but after playing it -- Slightly underwhelmed.

Taking things too literal. Would you feel better if I said "the first time they showed actual gameplay, and revealed Ryse was an on-rails Kinect game"?

Getting a bit tired of the hyperbole in Selnor's thread. We get it. Everything Ms is out of this world amazing.
As for the game itself I absolutely love everything I've seen so far. I hope it turns out to be great.

Well too bad, I am sticking with on-rails Kinect game was announced, because it's factually correct.
