I've always really liked Xbox Live so this makes me happy. Xbox Live has been a really good service to me over the years and the improvements going into next generation has sounded superb so far.

Reading my post again, I probably should have added the word "more" or "extra" somewhere in there. As it is it sounds like I'm implying that XBLG has no value. That said, from where I'm standing, Gold isn't currently worth the $60 they're asking for it. Not when PSN+ exists with all it's bonuses for a good $10 cheaper. My experience with both systems is pretty limited, though.


Cool. There are deals occasionally if ppl look where you get the codes for $20-25 lower. I know most don't look though but it's actually always been like that. 

I have heard tales of these deals. I wonder if they'll keep having them so frequently once they add games to the Gold package. It'll be awesome if they do.

They aren't tales lol. It's not actually MS from my experience. Last place I bought was Newegg. Then EBay. At the time I should have gotten two for $70 but I just got 1. If you've never seen any I'm sure you weren't looking all that well. Chapassgamer usually let's gamers know.

Good on you guys. Its a really good service, you get games that you never would have tried and realise that you actually like them.
I never would have played a lot of really good games had it not been for the instant games collection.

that's the thing I never tried.... and even if it would work right now... I do have a XB360 tied up to my XBL gold account already... we need someone with a free trial or something to try that with a dummie account.... I'll try with my account though will get back on my experience...

In the current system just log into XboxLive.com and put the game in your que.  Then it's yours for life.

A few weeks ago they had a 'free gold weekend' and everyone that wanted it got that game for free.  Anyone with a gamertag could get the game.  And gamertags are free.



 

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.
