Suddenly all MS fans who were criticizing PS+ are praising the new MS service :) Cute.

To my knowledge you can't successfully criticize a practise of giving away free games. That makes no sense.

The closest I can think of is that Xbox gamers may say that PS+ features aren't as robust as Live Gold, and that the free games were meant as a smoke and mirrors tactic to compensate. Not that I endorse that view currently, just clearing that up. Looks like we made a trade. We gave you MP paywalls and you gave us free games.

Win-win right? ;)

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

every single game they gave was great so far... yes old but great non the less.. I had all of them almost including the arcade one... so what a hell are you talking about ???? a game has to be 6 month old to be good??? that's news to me....

The thing is, when a game is so old, it has next to no value, cause you can buy it for just a couple bucks. The games we get on PS+ are sometimes 1-2 months old! Though usually they are 6-10 months old, at which time they still cost quite a bit. I mean, PS+ gave you a still quite fresh AC III, while a couple months later Live gave you AC II (let's not remember, there were Brotherhood and Revelations between these two). MS has to step up its game, I'm really surprised it's so dificult for them, considering they aren't creating anything new, but just trying to copy something that the devs and publishers are already well accustomed to.

Well you can keep the games if you go back to silver, there is that. But also a great game, no matter how old, is great to someone who never played it before.

But to explain why PS Plus gives away newer games....its because they have ground to cover. Sony missed out on years of subscription fees and want to catch up fast. You loose your games if you opt out, which they certainly don't want. Vita also has crazy good PS Plus deals, but that is because they want as much Vita sales as they can get. The deals aren't so much that Sony is super generous, it is because they want to gain ground, since MS is reletively content with their Gold, until they recently found that it is in their best interest to be competitive in this regard.

It is the same end result to the gamer, which we have nothing to complain about, but let's just be clear on the "why" aspect of it.

I know why they do it, but for me as a gamer the result is what counts I know older games also have value, Sony also gives us some older titles sometimes, but let's face it - it's better to get games that are worth $30 than $5

There was this guy two or three days ago trolling that PS+ is pure evil, a disguting moneygrab, has no value, etc. I'm not sure if he's a MS fan, but he showed that one may try to argue with giving free games. One may try...

Also I hope that this move from MS is gonna put some pressure on Sony. MS giving games forever is noticeably better, so I hope Sony changes its policy in this regard.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

Ouch that stings. We get the anal probe and you get the blow up dolls. :p

Yeah agreed... But then again they started late... Lets say on xbox1 they announce it officially at E3 for end 2014 early 2015... Games won't be older than 12 months then without backward comp... If they start early it's even better... So it could get better than ps+ then... Equally recent games... Completely free with sub... That's a great thing to look for for gamers... Competition will be ruthless on services this Gen I believe... That's why I think the sharing plan could be more realistic than some believe... On sheer competitive advantage it could represent... And probably many other things we haven't think about

I would rather cheaper games. Steam like prices and promotions.
Free games are ok, but I don't think this agregate as much value as games that you realy want to play, when you want to play.
