Eh? So a Pokemon game, Wii Party and a Brain Age game arent "notable" yet PSABR, Rain, Unit 13, Sly Cooper and Starhawk are "notable". Alright.

I think I understand this thread.

Have fun Jay. Toodles.

PSABR was hyped as the next Smash Bros, Unit 13 was suppose to be a big launch game for Vita or Zipper Interactive's return game, and Sly Cooper has always been praised.

The thing about Sony games is they usually get a lot of hype in general.

I'd highly doubt youre going to find anybody(very few) on internet forums who hypes up Wii Party or Pokemon Sidequest games.

Littlebigplanet karting was hyped?

I loved TLOU, Starhawk, Twisted Metal, God of War Ascension
KZ mercenary was also pretty great and I'm sure Shawdow fall will be just as great. Although the PS4 launch lineup did get pretty depressing scores..only if second son were a launch title...that being said the only Nintendo games I enjoyed on that list were..
Dark Moon, NSMB Wii U and NSMB 2..and I didn't even like them that much..they were all just good, which is pretty sad considering its a company that depends on its first party rather than 3rd party software unlike Sony or Microsoft.

With Sony's First Party being heavily bragged about this generation especially in the mid years (2009-2011)  it appears that Sony has struggled in late years with quality games.  On the other side they have a wide variaty with quantity.  Just wanted to hear other's thoughts.

2012-2013 Notable First Party Games

Little Big Planet Karting - 73
Soul Sacrifice - 77
The Last of Us - 95
Uncharted: Golden Abyss - 80
Playstation All-Stars - 74
Killzone: Mercenery - 78
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time - 75
LittleBigPlanet Vita - 88
Journey - 92
Gravity Rush - 83
Starhawk - 77
Unit 13 - 71

The ones I left above are the ones I have played, and none of them would I rate below an 8/10. Many of the ones you listed are also Vita titles, and for some reason Vita games have been being judged extra hard, as if every game has to justify a Vita purchase and if they fall short then they are a terrible game all together. Gravity Rush is a 95 to me for just being so inventive, Uncharted GA is about right, The Last of Us is a 100, Soul Sacrifice is a 90, LBP Vita is also a 10, Unit 13 is a solid 83 to me. Phenomenal games brought down by people who just didn't understand what they were even going for :P

I will be picking up Puppeteer and Beyond sometime this month. I have a hunch like most of this list, my opinon will differ vastly from the media.

Average Metascore of the 25 games above = 77.8% (78%) which isn't bad at all, espeically considering the huge amount of exclusives Sony has put out compared to the competition.

Sony's top 10 games from 2012-2013 average 85.1% (85%) which is great, their top 20 games average a very good 80.4% (80%), there's nothing to be disappointed about, there's a lot of good/great quality exclusives from Sony that have released during the last couple of years and things will only get better in the future.

So you're making your lists based on what games were "hyped" on the internet forums?  That seems like a rather nebulous and bullshit way to make a list that just happens to disclude every poorly scoring game Nintendo published in that time.

...

I wonder if you add up the sales of all these games who wins, Sony or Nintendo? can someone do it?

A first party game has always been understood as made by a first party developer when these lists are made.

As long as there are review sites like Polygon or Quarter-To-Three trolling Sony games, we can't talk metacritic seriously.
