A lot of people on the forums are definitely overblowing the whole resolution thing. But the difference will be quite clear in real life on a 46 inch 1080p screen. Average consumers will definitely be able to see the difference, especially if they are given the chance to see both. People who are saying that theres no difference are equally as delusional as those overblowing the difference.
This is why PC guys hate console games. Once you game at 1080p its VERY difficult to go back to native 720p. Doesnt really matter if you are a graphics whore or not. Resolution is one of the main configurations that effect the image you see. This issue is made worse when you have a native 720p image running on a native 1080p screen..displays are particularly bad at showing images at resolutions not at their native res.

That's not entirely correct. I saw lots of shots of towers and wires that looked significantly better on ps4. And the reason people noticed they were the same resolution was because they did pixel counts. Aliasing is separate from resolution. |
When people pixel count to find the native resolution, they generally use aliasing. I'd love to see the shots you're referring to.

I can honestly say I don't see the difference. I still buy DVDs because I find the difference with Blu-Rays to be minimal and I won't be paying extra for it. I have a ton of games on my PC and I don't see the difference with my PS3 or Wii U games.

Thank God they admitted the SP videos where both 720p because I thought I was going blind and couldn't see the difference.

I think you in the monority then Truck o.O
DVD and Blueray difference is quite big...
I'm assuming you play at 1080p on your PC so yeah...i dunno i just the difference is very obvious. Couple the lower res with terrible framerates on consoles and the differences become even more apparent. I noticed though that a lot of people i know who are not PC gamers or should i say regular PC gamers...really dont mind the lower res, framerates, worse graphics etc. of consoles. But they all aknowldge the difference.
I dont know though. Best thing i can say is go play Far Cry 3 on your PC right now at 1080p at decent settings then go play it on PS3. I can gaurentee you will see a difference...because well there IS a difference like factually there is a difference I dont know why you cant see it...
The MP videos are so diferents that I can't get a picture close (same view for example)... the YouTube quality is poor too... I need a high quality video

Hilariously enough, I was mistaken. Apparently I was looking at the battlefield 4 shots.
Strange though, twice in one week ps4 footage was given at incorrect resolution.

Well to be fair, I never had the chance to play the same game on a PC and then on a console (I never get more than one version of a game) but for instance most of the comparison screenshots posted in the numerous pixel counting threads are the same to me. I do see they're not exactly the same (there is usually a darker one between the two) but I could not tell you which one is "the best". They look like the same exact screen with a Photoshop effect to me.

Oh lol i definitely agree with that. The screenshot wars around here are silly. Thats why i specifically said on a big screen 1080p TV or any screen that is native 1080p .
If people are basing their opinions on screenshots then i think they are entirely missing the point :/
