Forums - Sony - Killzone Shadow Fall metacritic FLOP CONFIRMED: 73 on 17 reviews

As much as the original Motorstorm benefitted from process of elimination through the launch window, I would actually say Apocalypse's plummet stems from the fact that it was released during the PSN outage.

I don't really care for the series, just an observation.

But if people actually cared about Apocalypse, the game could have potentially become a sleeper hit. Instead people ignored it even in the bargain bin.

I was thinking it might have been undertracked or lacked advertising as a result of the outage, it just seems a bit of an odd drop, albeit that did happen with Resistance 3 regardless of the outage.

Oh dear. you don't think sony games were bundled back in the ps1 days? get real man.

If Nintendo had BILLIONS of dollars like sony, then the developers would have bent over backwards and asked "how high" when told to jump, and took it just like they did with sonys money.

Define big for me? because a lot of SHITTY PS1 games sold big due to sony advertising (their damn advertising was EVERYWHERE in the UK, even god damn nightclubs)

You keep saying i wonder how SEGA could not compete with sony, so i will SPELL IT OUT FOR YOU........... they did not have the financial or advertising muscle that sony had...... what part of SONY DID NOT EARN, BUT BOUGHT THEIR SUCCESS DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND?

Lastly, Sonic sold very solid on both Japan & the UK/Europe, so whats that got to do with anything?

Yeps, I don't remember any games being bundle with the PS1. Maybe it was different in your region. Can't say.

Nintendo had more than enough money to buy exclusives. They do now - why don't developers support them now that Sony doesn't have the cash?

For me big is 3M+.

But wait, I'm talking about the Sega Genesis era where only 3 games sold more than 2M - the PS1 wasn't around back then. What happened there?

Also, you can put it on the marketing dollars if you wish but, ultimately, Sony turned gaming into more than just a kid's hobby.

Hard to happen when no one knows when it got released and copies are hard to find. Also, we don't really know how many copies where sold.

Well i agree and disagree with some points you guys are exchanging, but as a resident Brit I can confirm there wasn't fuck all bundled with the PS1 here either, Dualshock controllers didn't even come with the system in EU until around late 1998.

Considering Sony didn't boast, my guess is not many copies were sold. If copies were hard to find.. well it would probably be worth more than $10 on Amazon.

Even if Motorstorm Apocalypse managed to sell 1 million units, it’s unlikely that franchise would have continued. Like I said at the beginning, Sony and MS generally will not continue high budget franchises unless they can potentially sell a couple million units.

Sony didn't boast about PSASBR either yet, we know it sold 1M units.

Also, as usual, you're making up numbers - $10? This link below shows $41.99 3 and a half month after the game was released in the US:

Also, Motorstorm continued after Apocalypse so...

Thank you, sir. My guess is that he will ignore your post.

To be honest, the game looks nice, but that doesn't give it an immediate pass. Nice-looking games hardly mean much if it's boring or if the story gets lame. I'll play this one....when the price drops later.
