This is the very reason why MS packed Kinect with the box. Each day I hear about its functionality, I am really glad they did it since I get a true media box that is also a very powerful gaming machine.

yes because apps can't be included without a motion control camera and they're soooo difficult to use with a controller (literally requires less movement without camera).  Also I'm sure Eye functionality can be patched in if people really start complaining.  Most won't though because most have figured out how to use dpads by now.

You sound almost exactly like a certain Mr Ballmer when he dissed smartphones and tablets since normal phones and computers in so many ways were superior products :).

I always use Kinect with Netflix nowadays. Using the controller might in some ways be more effective but the very concept of not having to use anything but your voice and hands to control your media center is very attractive to alot of us looking for improved experiences.

I am not in the console industry to have the most effective time with my favourite console: in that case I would have gone with a computer and keyboard/mouse since they will always be technically beyond and above any controller.

Why do you think people get excited by tings like virtual reality and such is not because gaming becomes more "effective", but more immersive. That is what I also look for in my media experience, and Kinect offers just that.

Sorry saying xbox play this, xbox do that, xbox volume up, xbox volume up, xbox volume down. Isn’t immersive in the slightest.

More for devs to work with I say. That's a good thing in my eyes.

I didn't know it had any voice commands. Can I turn the ones that do exist off?

A feature that gets very limited third party support and is little more than a novel way to interact with your console for the time being. If it does start becoming a big deal, it will be patched.

If factual accuracy is your thing then the camera / mic array can't interpret anything because it doesn't have a processor. All processing is in the PS4. Which means, in theory, any mic can be used for voice commands, e.g. in PS3 the Singstar mics are used for voice control (not very well).

that's why I'm fine paying $100 less for a console that have features that I really want.

Lmao voice commands, what a huge loss, I dont give a fuck about that shit.

Good thing they implement them but I dont even use them in my car...good to have without being obliged to pay for the feature.

RIP ps3, xbox360.

welcome home ps4 and X1

Since I couldn't give a rat's arse about voice commands, I'm just glad Sony aren't making me pay for something I have no interest in.

Yeah, cool, but I kinda think that smart TVs are gonna offer me the same thing without Kinect and without having to pay for Live. It's not like MS and Sony are the only ones in this fight for "immersive" TV control and that Samsung has nothing to say about it. They already are controlled by gesture, voice, remote or smartphone. You can safely go with the better gaming experience of PS4 and get all that gesture and voice stuff from your TV.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.
