My game is held in a much higher regard than your guesses .

People usually say it's the best entry in the entire series, but personally I thought it's more linear handheld successor was better.

Super Metroid -> Metroid Fusion?

Seems about right to me, though I personally prefer Super for speedrunning reasons.

Hehe.

Yes, that's correct. My first clue was quite vague, but I didn't want to use elements obviously from the game otherwise it would've been guessed too easily. I knew though that this add-on to my clue would probably make it a lot easier to guess .

So then everyone now also knows Metroid Fusion is on my list... But where?? O.O

My #42 was Final Fantasy X, the first of a fair number of Squaresoft/Square Enix games to grace my Top 50.

My #41 is a JRPG that came out this year, but not from the Square Enix empire.

#41: Blaster Master (NES)

I never finished this game, it's just too hard but that doesn't mean it isn't tons of fun. Blaster Master doesn't hold your hand, you're never told where to go, you have to explore the area and find your way by yourself. The game starts as you stumble on a high-tech tank while running after your pet frog (who hasn't really?), then you set out to destroy a horde of monsters as you gradually upgrade your tank (allowing you to reach new areas semi-Metroid-style). The gameplay is separated between the overworld which you navigate in your tank and dungeons where you have to fight your way on your own (with your gun and an unlimited supply on bombs). The variety has managed to keep my interest up and even after all those years I'm still looking forward to the day I'll be able to beat the last boss.

Shin Megami Tensei IV

Yes.

One of the few totally new games of 2013 to make my list, SMT4 has almost everything I could want in an RPG of its type. A great story with pertinent themes, an interesting world to explore, deep gameplay, hundreds of playable characters, dem graphics and music, etc. Honestly, it would be much higher on my list, on the top 20, if it weren't for one single factor: the main characters. They are simple, one-dimensional, and uninteresting. Worse, you have to spend a fair amount of time with them. They aren't abysmal, but they are definately the game's weakest point. Also, the beginning is a bit slow.

Clue for #41: What comes between a kind of degree and the (original name of the) developers of the Neverwinter Nights MMO?

Heavy Rain, I believe.

The funny thing is, I was already familiar with Stormfront Studios and knew they'd made the Neverwinter Nights MMO, but I had never heard of Fahrenheit before and actually had to look it up.

Anyway, my #43 and #42 (which none of you tried to guess. I choose to interpret that as a sign of my clues being too brilliant and me being too smrt) were Crash Bandicoot 3 and Jak II. I miss Crash Bandicoot and Jak.

Time for #41:

The sequel omitted everything that was special about this launch game. Also, soulfly666 has great taste in music.

And without prompting, too. Well done

I couldn't make a hint for number 41. It was The Legend of Zelda The Adventure of Link!

Anyway number 40 is here: "A blond hero and a cute magician team up to defeat an old enemy" It's kinda vague I think, but it's the best I could come up with xD.
