OK, gotta catch up.

Clue for #49:

This game takes place on an island that first appeared in another game on the same system, although it was called something different.

Wii Sports Resort?

My next entry is considered by many to be the best skateboarding game ever released.  The first level was released on a demo that many became instantly addicted to.

Good man!

#48 - Tekken Tag Tournament (Kudos to BasilZero for guessing this)

TTT didn't take huge leaps and bounds to move the series forward after the juggernaut that was Tekken 3.  It didn't need to.  What it did do was provide the most smooth, streamlined and utterly enjoyable fighting game I'd played to that date.

Instead of moving the storyline forward; it just threw all my favourite characters over the past 5 years together in one tournament.  Getting to play as Jun again was a blast.  Tag-teaming Jun and Nina was even cooler.  Tag-team bowling Jun and Nina was the icing on the cake.

I'm not sure the series ever got better than this.  It got different than this, and improved in various areas but took steps back in others.  I've yet to play Tekken Tag 2, but I don't see any way it can match up to the tour-de-force that was the original.

Oh, and it has one of the best Tekken songs ever, too:

Clue for my #47 - developed by a team of survival-horror veterans, this open world-action adventure's hero became the (cute) face of the console it was developed on.

Yep! Vague, but obvious enough for you to get it!

I got it right.  Cool.  I only said it seemed vague because it's one minor part in the entire game.  If I was wrong then I'd have had no idea what it could have been.

No one attempted to answer mine yet, a few pages back so reposting.  Editing to make it a little easier.

Hint for number 47.

After finishing this game, you'll get a better rank.  If you start a new game plus with that better rank, you'll have access to previously sealed off areas and more cutscenes in the main storyline.  Whether it's your first time playing or you're playing new game plus, your rank is told within the storyline itself at the very beginning.

Errr... yours is also vague, lol.

Chrono Trigger?

Maybe Parasite Eve or Vagrant Story.

HINT for my # 47:

This game released on the most successful console of all time between 2001 and 2005. It's a sports title, but not made by EA. Xzibit was on the soundtrack, and you could run on walls :)

48) Portal (2007 / 90 / PC)

Portal was an excellent puzzle game and a breath of fresh air. Had it been longer and had a proper story, it would be much higher up on my list. And since its sequel is both of those things, it IS much higher up.
