This being the first time I have ever put together a top 50 list, it is really odd how many entries I have that are "part 2" in a series.  There are tons of them...Behind due to holidays, Clues for:

33 - This game is the the somewhat overlooked sequel to the original NES game which contained an inexplicable head to toe pink suit. This sequel, which I very slightly prefer, never contained any actual people.

30 - This entry in the series is the favorite of many and was the first to feature grappling and projectile deflection with the main weapon.

28 - Commonly known as one of the "Big3" in arcade history, this is the 3rd highest grossing arcade game of all time both in units sold and revenue.  It is also the only game in the top 5 that is not a "shooting" arcade game.

#33: Super Punch Out!!

#30: The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

#28: Street Fighter 2?

33 is right, 30 is wrong, 28 is right.

32 - The second entry in a series based on each level being from a different time period.  Fans have been clammoring for an HD sequel.

31 - Fans argue on which entry is the best in this series but I prefer part 1.  It is an unexpectedly popular basketball game based on the premise of the NBA JAM series.  The newest current gen entry was by far the weakest and may have meant the demise of the series.

32 - Eternal Darkness...wait second entry?

31 -  NBA Jam Extreme?

30 - A Link to the Past

38 - Wikipedia say, Street Fighter II....wow really? It's also the only one in the top 10 not released in the early 80's/late 70's...

32 nope, 31 nope, 30 nope, 28 yes

#30 - Final Fantasy IX (Kudos to Scoobes for guessing this)

Compared to most people on forums I go on these days, I don't really hold IX in such high regard as everyone else that it's the best game since VI, yada yada (in fact, quite the opposite).

However, FF IX is absolutely fantastic; and was the last Final Fantasy game I can genuinely say I enjoyed until XIII-2 came along.  While it does have some blemishes here and there (combat is unbelievably slow; story degrades into nonsense by the final act) it more than makes up for it in other areas.  Soundtrack is absolutely sublime, as per usual for the series in the 90's.  Story, for the most part, was really thrilling and all the characters (aside from Dagger, holy hell I hated Dagger) were brilliantly written and easy to empathise with (particularly Vivi).  The throwbacks to classic roles was brilliant; the world map was clever; side quests were enjoyable; bosses were challenging etc. etc.  Just had everything going for it.

Clue for my #29 - save a travelling carnival from an evil puppeteer and then enjoy some of the never ending post-story content in this handheld spin-off from a seventh-gen franchise.

Handheld spinoff from a 7th gen franchise? That makes this sound like an 8th gen handheld.

Sounds bizarre, but I can't think of any 8th gen handheld IP's that are spinoffs of 7th gen console games. Unless the 7th gen franchise is a handheld franchise, in that case I vote Zero Escape: Virtues Last Reward although I have yet to play either this or 999.

#37 - This game received some praise for mocking other well established franchises but critisizm for a lack of originality. Had a very challenging post game challenge mode, which took me 2 days to finish, but it was damn satisfying. IMO this game defines fast paced action games. This game was criticized because the enemies look like a main enemy type from Mass Effect. There is even a section which mocks Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell. This is a futuristic space themed game, which takes place on a ship which looks awefully similar to the Citadel from Mass Effect.

It a game from a developer who USED TO have Sega publish their works.

#30 - It's not a spoiler that everyone who is like you dies in this game because it's a prequel to the game where the 1 survivor is the protagonist. One of the enemy ships in this game has the same name as a fast American sports car.

#29 - My favorite racing SIM. Took all the issues with every race before it, and fixed them. To bad the sequel to this game is flawed with free upgrades, and never encourages stock racing anymore.

37 - This game is not even exclusive, and when did Sega ever publish Lost Planet or Gears of War?

29 - Forza 4 is the flawed game, Forza 3 is my #29

Forza Motorsport 3 had a slogan "Drive your dream car." That's what the entire game was about, no more grinding to save $$$ for a car, no more repeating races like in Gran Turismo. Forza Motorsport 3 had about 600 cars after all the DLC, cars from all parts of the world, not just Japan. So because of this, it fixed a lot of the issues Gran Turismo was plagued with (seriously, GT5 only had 3 Mustangs, and didn't even have the one which released a year before the game released, but it had 40 Skylines...). Forza 3 rewarded you with cars for leveling up, for completing cups, and you rarely raced in the same vehicle more then a few times (unless you chose to).

With Forza Motorsport 4, upgrades became free after level 5, and races were set are arbitrary performance point. This game no longer felt like a sim because it forced you to tune cars to a preset limit to race them. You never drove a stock car anymore, and it never felt like a sim when none of the cars were even remotely close to stock. Plus with the achievement for driving 1 brand to level 50, this game discouraged you to drive more then 1 manufacturer of vehicle. On top of that, I started to get sick of DLC by the time this game released, it was just getting overdone.

Forza Motorsport 3 will likely stay the best Forza for a long time coming, and IMO it's a much better game then any Gran Turismo (however GT has been concistantly great, and pretty much every other GT game is supperior to every other Forza except Forza 2 & 3)

I screwed up there, I saw Sega, but forgot about it when I wrote those games. I want to guess that the developer is Platinum Games, but I'm not enterily sure about that.

I didn't know that about Forza 4, I just guessed it because I've red you saying that you like the franchise.
