#31 When you hack into a research computer in this game, you can ask the following questions, and get these answers:

What happened to China? Reports uncertain. China my be fictional.
Can mole rates be domesticated? Yes if defanged, declawed, & lobotomized
Can Centaurs talk? Abundance of tongues suggest so.

#36 - One of the major characters in this game, was not seen in a sequel, but might be re-introduced in the next game in the series. This game is often considered the best in the franchise by most of the hardcore fans. This is also a fighter, it's a sequel to a game which almost didn't get localized because the developer thought that the Western Audience wouldn't like it.

Street Fighter II

#38 - One of the only games where they managed to make a proper 4th installment on a trilogy that ended very conclusively. I.i. it's the 4th game in a trilogy. The enemies in the game are a type of parasite which spread uncontrollably because the enemy type in the games name have been erraticated.

Halo 4?

Thought Kresnik would guess it, even though my clue was vague, but I guess he didn't see it

I just read backwards through the thread and holy crap, yeah, I missed that.  Though to be honest I had completely forgotten about all the cameos in that intro.  I just remember being terrified of it as a kid because of the "eject" at the end.

It was good to see again, though.  Just another example of why I loved all the humour in their games.  "Populous 3" demo on the Surgeon's console, lol.

Lol yeah me too.

I also used to think Darth Vader was there in the waiting room. I don't think it's him, but some person there does kinda look like Vader. I'm not sure if that's supposed to be a reference also, but I choose to believe it is >.<.

But of course, there's still at least unmistakenly the Dungeon Keeper reference, the Populous 3 indeed and the Superman reference .

Clue for #30: My first PS3 game: the rebirth of a great series which is now unfortunately pretty much dead after three lackluster entries in a row.

I was going to say Tools of Destruction, but then I thought that's not really a "rebirth" and the series isn't dead.  And ItN was only debatably "lackluster".

Ridge Racer 7, possibly?  But again, not really a "rebirth".

Splinter Cell: Double Agent?

You were right with the first one. Rebirth wasn't the best term to use. I do think ItN was lacklustre compared to the best games in the series (including ToD) - at least, based on reviews.

#37 - This game received some praise for mocking other well established franchises but critisizm for a lack of originality. Had a very challenging post game challenge mode, which took me 2 days to finish, but it was damn satisfying. IMO this game defines fast paced action games. This game was criticized because the enemies look like a main enemy type in a famous Bioware Game.

Because of this franchises popularity, many japanese only franchises got localized outside of Japan, one of them being my favorite franchise in gaming.

#35 - Was an exclusive, then it was no longer exclusive, but then a special edition made this an exclusive again. A terrible design choice in the sequel killed all hype for this franchise. Gameplay involves using grapple hooks to climb up ledges, and thermal packs to survive the extreme conditions.

#32 - While 3D is all the rage now, this game was one of the first games to properly utilize the consoles two screens. It's named after a GBA franchise, which was a sequel to a Japan only Gameboy franchise.

37: Bulletstorm?

36: Tekken 3?

35: Final Fantasy XIII

How was bullet storm not creative? What enemy types mimic a Bioware game?

Tekken 3 almost didn't get localized? Not the game, but wow this hint is pretty vague.

Grapple Hooks and Thermal packs in FFXIII? Also a terrible design choice in FFXIII killed the hype for the FF series. For My #35 there is no design choice flaws, but the sequel was a mega flop because of them.

I was kind of grasping at straws with 36 and 37.

I figured the terrible design choice was making FF14 an MMO.

Is 35 Lost Planet?

33 - Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice

This game surprisingly debuts the red demon lawyer, called Apollo Justice and he's damn FINE!

To be honest, when I heard about this game and red a some things on it, it painted my picture of the game really bad. I thought to myself "why did they do this?". However, upon purchasing this game that picture was painted over with rainbows and shit. This game really surprised me as much as Apollo's japanese name. The villain was magnificent, he's what I would call pure evil. Nothing I can recognize from the trilogy and Apollo was a worthy substitute to Nick, as was Trucy to Maya. This game really didn't have many downs, with the only ones being lack of development of Apollo and the Gavinner Klavier.
