The difference between X1 and PS4 multiplat games will be greater during launch than afterwards.

Two simple reasons :

X1 architecture is "esram sauce" complex when PS4 is the first true dev-friendly Sony home console

X1 has an amazing 1st party launch line-up thus offering a lesser return on investment for 3rd parties

Prediction :

2014 : X1 will conquer mainstream channels and audience (thanks to superior UI and kinect)

2015 : 3rd devs will increase X1 budgets putting multiplat games on par or almost to PS4's

I think that 2015 the year for XBOX1 will be, because hopefully for MS they then have had 1 year where they could proof and regain their part and maybe Sony will have some screw-ups etc. But at this moment I have the feeling that Sony will rule 2013/2014.

Ps. On what do you base your opinion that the UI of MS is superior to others?

From the official demo videos and descriptions. The only feature where X1 is known to be behind is the video capture. All the rest, from speed to possibilities is theoretically to X1's advantage.

Uh Oh!!!

You have broken the rules on the internet.  You have stated that any part of the XB1 is somehow better than the PS4.  This thread will crash with arguments against you and your whole family now.   :)

OT :   I think that the XB1 will always lag a little behind the PS4 visually.  That may seem the most important to people today, as they have nothing else to think about.  Down the line a year or so, it will be about the games and how they play(not look).

It is near the end of the end....

People are forgetting at launch, developers have limited resources. Anybody remember the Bathesda situation this gen?

They stated their had to use nearly THREE times the employees (at one point in the develpment for one of their games, so not total develpment time) for the PS3 version than the 360 version.

Its probably the same case this gen, devs can't spare too many resources for one lone system so they do the best with whatever they got.

got no source for the bathesda claim but I'm sure people will remember how troublesome the ps3 was

LOL, none of the xbox exclusives can compete with the big 3rd party games for them to lose sales, that is also with taking the fact that the genres barely overlap.

I was wondering when someone was going to bring out the old ''year of X'' card into the discussion. Don't jinx the console man, it's a bad sign when this gets started.

You forget the easy and strong point...

GPU power... PS4 have a GPU close to 50% more capable than Xbone.

OMG why do people think that the PS4 will just stay stagnant and not improve over time??

I am confident that if anything, the performance gap will actually increase over time.

Only one of those consoles gets Titanfall in 2014. Thus 2014 is the year of Titanfall Xbox One.

So 1 game makes the year? Wouldn't it just be an increase in sales for a month and then a return to normal sales numbers, which will most likely be lower than PS4?
