Still though, my point stands. Lower resolution does not necessarily mean that you can push better looking assets.

Games like CoD are noticebly under (even if 60 fps).

Hell I'd give you the framerate being lowered allows for more to be done. But resolution => No. That's also why KZ SFs framerate is "variable 30" and not around 60 like the MP. It is to allow for those extra juicy stuff.

No, your point does not stand. Its not even my argument. Lower resolutions are done for higher frame rates. If they are trying to do high quality visuals and maintain a high frame rate, the resolution will take a hit.

We already see several PS4 games sacrificing 60 fps for 1080p resolution. At some point I believe that'll turn into 720p and 30 fps when they really attempt to push the hardware.

No way it goes down to 720p. Not once people are used to higher resolutions on the PS4. 720p looks like ass once you are used to better. I'm personally not buying any game that isn't 1080p native.

Allow me to assist!

Ryse = about 24

KZ = about 31

Ryse really had the lead from the start. As you go in, KZ gets quite some more. Even with that, I had to try and filter out all the random convo's people had without really hinting what they prefer. Any "Ryse has this better but SF has this that that this and that better" went in favour of SF.

I suggest making a poll in the future if you want to see legitimate numbers (or rather said "legitimate" XD).

I also came across a tweet that I made a thread about =>

I don't understand your question.

You point is that some Sony are sacrificing 60 fps for 1080p resolution... that lower resolutions are done fo higher framerates.

So why go with 720p30fps and 900p30fps? I meant you are using lower resolution for higher framerate, no?

So if you lower the resolution and even so didn't can increase the framerate... so what that means?

We are seeing the PS4 having difficulty achieving 1080p with 60 fps. Few noteworthy games are doing it. As graphics become more demanding, it may become even more difficult to achive 1080p with 30 fps. Especially in open world games.

Anyhow, just a prediction. I could be wrong. You guys are getting awfully worked up about it.

It is the opposite... games get better framerate in the future... GT5 to GT6 upped the resolution for example... GTA IV to GTA V upped the resolution too.

Some games went slightly higher, some games went lower. CoD for example went lower to hit 60 fps. Only the PS3 version of GTAIV was a lower resolution. But its been well documented the hardware was difficult for developers.

Developers managed to keep 7th gen games around 720p30fps. But whenever games attempted to be 1080p or 60fps, you often got subpar graphics.

Some developer may find 60fps is more important than 1080, that could lead to lower resolution games on PS4. A la, BF4.

If we see 720p and 30fps games on PS4. I think those will be games where developers are really pushing high end graphics on the hardware.

The only way they're going to get the framerate up there is if the console has enough power to offset screen tearing.

Polygon said Killzone in that one video. It's Polygon, so you know they're telling the truth when they say a PS4 game looks better.

Both are beautiful but Killzone has more variety, more flash and bigger environments and is 1080p. In terms of character models though Ryse is way more superior(redundancy intentional) than Killzone SF.

Killzone Shadow Fall cause is 1080p , lightning effects, rain effects, detailed environment and frame is always above 30 fps to 60 fps, is just beautiful.

When I saw the KZ SF footage in february I just couldn't believe it, I said to my self Blah here it goes again Sony with their tech demos, but now after playing the exact same level the past days, my eyes couldn't believe it O_O, I said to my self "They did it, they FREAKING DID IT!!", I was salivating the whole play through, and then there is this space level that OMFG!!!. KZ SF so far all the time it gives me Oh my freaking god moments!! and this is what I was expecting from Sony new console, so far its slogan is true! "Await for greatness" and finally Greatness has arrived!! not even counting the other games Resogun, F2P games and MP games those look stunning as well.

For Ryse I cant say too much since I only beeing seeing videos, it looks awesome too but the combat, the movement looks kinda clunky, I think Crytek had a great opportunity to demonstrate their gfx engine in other ways but it failed with this kind of story. I still have hope for a true succesor of Crysis and Warhead will need to wait longer, But with Ryse they had missed opportunity.
