No you're right, I'm no expert having played CoD competitively since the franchise first started on PC. You know who are the experts though? The consumers that bought it less than Blops 2 :^)

I've played every COD campaign since COD3, (plus I've played the original COD on PC) and I can honestly say Ghosts is the best of the bunch as far as single player goes. (which is all I really play COD for)
Black Ops II, MW1, and World at War come close, though.

Purely for curiosity's sake, what made you like it the most?

Main things: (SPOILERS)
The setting. The post-apocalyptic US barely holding out against a new superpower was a cool role reversal. Much more interesting than the somewhat bland universe of the Modern Warfare games.
The missions. Stealth that was actually a matter of gauging your own movements instead of playing following the leader, and three-dimensional combat in space and underwater were a great change of pace. The opening mission in the ODIN space station was one of the most memorable in the series for me, with the sudden shattering of the peaceful association we have with astronauts and space, the operator listing off the cities that were being targeted as your hurried to stop it, and the final self-sacrifice of you and your colleague to save the people below.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I didn't feel any of that, I dunno the whole SA superpower thing rubbed me off the wrong way in the logic department, its even far less believable than the NK effort you see in Homefront. But hey that's why it's all fiction.

Fair enough, different strokes for different folks. :)
Can someone explain to me why BF4's campaign is so bad? I haven't played it but what about it is terrible?
I played BF3, and I thought that campaign was rather paltry. Follow this guy, ok shoot those people, follow that guy, ok take out the dude on the right, go there, snipe that, follow that guy, shoot those dudes, now follow that guy, dont be caught by them folks. FUCK! It felt like slave labour! Just taking orders and following people that are hand-holding you all the way through. It sucked. I just wanted it to end.
I think its time they really inject these military shooters with some drama, some emotion. They've become so bombastic and just a string of one set-piece to another, all held together with gallery shoot-outs. Imagine turning the movie Saving Private Ryan into a videogame. I mean, not literally, but using that as the basis of creating a military shooter. Allow you to create real bonds with your brothers in arms, maybe have a few scenes where you're just sitting round a campfire and talking about life, war, anything. But try to create personalities and not just bullet fodder. Then kill a few of them to create some shock, wound one or two and have you save them amidst the hail of bullets and explosions. Maybe having to choose between saving one comrade from another, and having to live with the guilt of someone's death on your conscience. Just, SOMETHING. something different. I've grown so insensitive to the explosions and the bullets. Its so tedious, and I think there is such raw drama, such raw emotions on the battlefield that can be capitalized on, but these developers just stick to tried and tested. Bunch of boring tits. COD and BF campaigns are shit through and through.
Anyway, 2 cents n shit...
One question Mr. Pugglsy could you please give me a score out of 10 for the SP in the following games?
Battlefield 3, 4
COD 4-9
I decided to watch it on Youtube. If you think Michael Bay films are masterpieces, you'll enjoy the nonsense that is the COD Ghosts campaign.
I am the Playstation Avenger.
