it will and will stay relevant for years to come, Wii will settle at a high amount but it's been a dead console for previous 24months

yes,very much so,isnt this what we do here(one of them anyways),discuss sales??? it will be very interesting because everyone and their kittens thought the wii had this easily wrapped up(me included) after year 3 and was just about on a ps2 level pasting of the competition. it will be an all time comeback. to me its like a nfl team being down 56-10 at halftime,and coming back to win in o.t

I've been saying this for several years.  When I start saying it, the Wii/PS3 gap was 35 million.  People laughed - there were only a few of us back then who thought the PS3 would pass the Wii.

Now, most of the people in this poll think the PS3 will hit 100 million.  Wii sales are effectively finished today - at 100 million.

Today, the gap is only 20.5 million.  By the end of the year, it will be closer to 19 million.  By the end of 2014, it will be 10 million.

The PS3 will pass the Wii.  Bank on it. 

My lone voice predicting that the PS3 would finish on top is turning into a chorus.


Good post but I think the gap will be less than 17M after this year.

I remember people being absolutely fascinated when the PS2 passed 150 million.

I think 100 million is a far more significant milestone, and with the PS3 especially being dead last for so long and considered such an abysmal failure, it really is turning out to be quite an amazing comeback story (not to say that they'll even come close to making back all the money they lost on it, though).

So about 59% say yes, with nearly half of that saying it will overtake the Wii. Wow.
