There was already a thread about this and what i gathered it is a victory for the X1!

This is the result of the GPU MS chose. XBOs GPU struggles to run games at 1080p even without the best settings. To give games a next gen look developers have to aim for 720p. Even the PS4s GPU just cuts the cake with games running around 40fps with ultra settings at 1080p. This is why BF4 did not reach 1080p. BF4s mission was 60fps, resolution took a back seat.

Unfourtunally, this is going to be the case all gen. It is not lazy developers, it is not because MS has development problems, and it is not because it is a new system. XBO is only capable of running games at half the resolution that PS4 can with similar or worse framerates. It has been proven over and over again in benchmarks for a couple of years. This is just the way AMD GPUs scale.

But then the two consoles would be more of the same. they are already similar and dominated by titles that release on both. kinnect gives the xbox the edge at marketing to people who likes the virsitility. and ps4's has the edge in focusing all it's power towards pumping up the games apealing to people who want just that, games. if they focused on just the power, this gen might have had the two most similar systems ever, and past battles have been pretty close as it is.

Hey, I never said they couldn't do something else... Xbox One has gotten bad press since the day it was annouced and it costs $100 more than a ps4 and its underpowered compared to the ps4 because of Kinect from what I can tell... And they have Windows so I am sure they could have thought of something because I do think thanks to games like TitanFall, Cod Ghosts and BF4, Xbox One would sell more than a ps4 if the the price was the same and it was close in terms of horse power

You said it all, AC and CoD engines are not as scalable as Frostbite 3. If you play both games on a ultra-top tier PC you won´t gain as much as Batlefield (of Crysis).

Resolution is just the easy way to port down those games, that are almost identical on current-gen consoles.

More like last Gen says hello. Wii got pounded on by "Core gamers" the entire Gen (but mostly 2011 - 2013), PS3 from launch - 2008/9 and Xbox360 during and after the RROD scandal.

We just need one console king this generation, all the programmers and publishers will then focus on competing on quality games for one platform that the public will pick from, free from moneyhatting and silly exclusive contracts.

 

I for one am glad at the stumbles of MS this gen, I really hope they go away for the reasons stated.

To be fair the Wii U version looks gorgeous, so if the Xbox one version is similar or slightly better, it will be a great experience for Xbox one users.
