why use something less convenient when you have better available... it's like people saying the IR blast is useless you can use a universal remote.... yeah and you can use a feature phone worth 10 bucks an old CD player and a radio for a couple bucks and all instead of buying a 600 bucks galaxy s4 or iphone 32gsXYz
when I turn on my XB360 when I get home usually I go in the kitchen grab a beer... tell the XB to go to my pins then I go grab a cigarette choose hulu or netflix with voice command while I go at the window to smoke it then I pick my show and I'm done... why would I grab the pad if I don't need to and I can do other things and be hands free to cook, be on my computer or on my phone doing other things ????....and I'm not talking when it's been an hour you are watching somethinbg the pad is off and it goes way faster even with the lag to use voice command than turn on the pad and navigate with it...
see right now watching sleepy hollow on hulu+ and I don't even know where the pad is.... I'm at my desk... in a minute I'll go do my cigarette break.... if I want to rewind or go to the next show I'm better off with voice command....
Some things have to work absolutely flawless for people to use it.
People bought Kinect because they thought it would scan their body in perfect 3D and translate it flawlessly into a videogame where they then can interact with the videogameworld in the same fashion they interact with the real world.
People like the idea of a voice command system because of movies like Iron man, Where you practically have a smart butler at your disposal at all times.
Ofcourse thats not where it has to start but atleast it should always work in a basic way so that a feature like this increases your convinience and not to be just a gimmick a taste of what the future will hold eventually,

that and with XBoss one and kinect 2 videao of the dashboard and snap app we have seen it is clearly showing how retarded it is to use the pad to do things when you could do it directly with voice command to switch/snap between things.... they all show it is slower
so yeah 10 second might not be much once in while but if you waste 10 second a day for 7 years it is 7+ hours you completely wasted when you could have been doing somnething else....
I believe the Kinect 2 is a massive leap forward in technology from the previous iteration, personally i have heard that it is much better than the last kinect. I guess some people just want to bury this no matter what.

The Verge was quite impressed as well. Or is it a marketing partner, too? |
the verge impressions come clean in my books. As long as they are coherent with polygon. They are owned by the same company.
IGN is just not a trusteable source.

wow... 7 hours out of 61300. You could use that 7 hours wasting your time talking to random people on a forum... oh wait... thats just as useless...

The first place I referenced did give me the option to speak to an agent after about three fails. The second place did not. It felt like a broken loop, where it gave me no options but to keep trying. By the end I was just saying stuff like, "I-said-NO-you-bleeping-piece-of-crap," and ,"NONONONONONbleepingNO." I think it was pressing random buttons that got me out of the loop, though there were no instructions.

Thats exactly it. At one point i was just insulting the voice control for a couple minutes before giving up. After about 20-30 minutes of seriousness. Government services are good for that

n.b. : while watching sleepy hollow or any mindless entertainment.... and drink a beer.... can't really do all that while holding a pad can you??? But if you prefer the slower more tedious way good for you... you can...
