Forums - Gaming - Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Through Cloud 'Problematic'

Another great thing about PS4 imo. As far as the US goes, we're going to get a robust streaming service that features BC.

As long as you have a fast internet connection. That's what MS considers, "problematic."

I tried Gaikai before Sony bought it and I've used OnLive. There is a lot of choppiness on my 5 Mb connection. There are many people in the country that have even slower connections than that. So here's the issue, cloud gaming will not work well for a large percentage of users.

penello's wrong. kowenicki promised me that MS is years ahead of sony. they have the best engineers in the world, THE BEST.  sony will of course be playing catch-up on cloud technology for years to come.  they simply don't have the infrastructure...

I do so love when people get exposed for talking out of their asses months later. It just makes it that much more satisfying.

OT: I am interested to see how Gakai can pull off BC through streaming when the service is open to an entire consumer base. I imagine it's a much more demanding undertaking than music and movies.

I don't expect a seamless, smooth and uninterrupted gaming experience with Gaikai. No way like the gaming we are used to.

Yeah, I think I'll be holding onto my PS3 for a good while. I actually still have a modded PS1 in my closet.

I used to have a 3Mb connection. Those were dark days. I couldn't even stay connected to PSN for consistent amounts of time, let alone game online.

Not sure why that is. Playing online games doesn't really require much bandwidth. I used to have 3 Mb and it worked perfectly for playing Xbox Live.

So to boost your graphics on Xbone you have the infinite power of the Cloud but just to stream a old game not.

Internet connecting is a issue for one and not for other

DAT MS.

Probably because both me and my brother were gaming online at the same time from two different systems. Could've also been the ISP we had having a crappy infrastructure.

Ι believe few people will benefit from those services. But to have a game's performance be depended on cloud services is unfair to the rest. Few people will play the game, as it meant to be played. The rest will experience a lesser version, be it in terms of AI or graphics.

Yes, and pigs can fly, after all.

Look, we are NOT talking about streaming a video. We are talking about EXECUTING A PS3 GAME at the other end. In order to do that, you have to have something on the other end that EXECUTES CELL CODE like a PS3. Whichever way you chose to implement it, by 1:1 or by emulation )good luck with that), it will cost a f*ton of money for the provider, and someone has to pay for that.

If playing a AAA game through a streaming service is the equivalent of pigs flying, you better get that umbrella, because there's going to be ALOT of pig shit. It's already been done and Sony is going to do it as well.

The best news about this is demos. No more having to download 3 GB demos. You can just instantly start a demo up and go. That's huge.

why both companies promote something they haven't tested yet. lies over lies over lies, what else do they have in stores for us?
