Forums - Gaming - NDAs Prevent Developers From Saying PS4 Is Stronger Than Xbox One

Another thread based on the lunacy of the internet. Those with the tinfoil hats on(people who are actually blaming M$ specifically) need to step back and think through what they are thinking. A few others have pointed this out already, but I will also take a shot at this. All companies that sell proprietary hardware that 3rd party companies sell accessories/software for have these 3rd party companies sign NDAs about their hardware. It isn't some "secret sauce" thing or them trying to hide information from the consumers. This is pretty straight forward stuff, they are trying to keep their designs and specs to themselves and away from their competition. Most NDA's are set up with milestones or dates, but some never expire. If any software developer wants to work on these systems in the future, they don't ever try to break the NDA. Now, please take the tinfoil hats off and resume playing your games.

Speaking of NDAs, I always have a laugh when you have to sign a generic NDA just to see the real NDA. These companies take it very seriously. Also most of the ones I've signed never expire.

"GC: So the obvious assumption from all this is that the PlayStation 4 is definitely more powerful than the Xbox One, is that true?
"MR: [acting very embarrassed] I can’t answer that."

So are we sure it's not Sony forcing devs not to admit PS4 is not more powerful?

8GB of DDR5 begs to differ.

32MB of esRAM would like a word

Not enough as most developers that have spoken on the matter have reported that PS4 is 33% to 50% more powerful than Xbox Lost and Dead Rising 3's not even running at 1080p and 60 frames per second.

Well regardless just so everyone knows unlike the competition Sony just showed an unboxing from a Sony engineer taking the PS4 apart and showing the specs. That and this report was from Cinemablend the same article that outted Microsoft for admitting DRM was in the Xbox One after the Xbone reveal.

Um, XBOX did one back in may.

Also there are still specs on both consoles that haven't been publicly stated.

I counted their finalized efforts to have concluded in august with the upgrades to the clockspeed, graphics and operating system. Thanks for the info though.

To tell the GDDR5 not to be so slow?
