All companies that sell proprietary hardware that 3rd party companies sell accessories/software for have these 3rd party companies sign NDAs about their hardware. It isn't some "secret sauce" thing or them trying to hide information from the consumers. This is pretty straight forward stuff, they are trying to keep their designs and specs to themselves and away from their competition. Most NDA's are set up with milestones or dates, but some never expire. If any software developer wants to work on these systems in the future, they don't ever try to break the NDA. Now, please take the tinfoil hats off and resume playing your games. |
Speaking of NDAs, I always have a laugh when you have to sign a generic NDA just to see the real NDA. These companies take it very seriously. Also most of the ones I've signed never expire.
