Can't you import a used version?

Going by Sony's market logic and "inevitable taxes", it should have been $1354 to make only a "small loss".

Good move Ninty, er, relatively spekaing. And a definite answer to those who thought it was as simple as "but X1 is manufactured there".

I blame our corrupted politicians and the government's insane taxation on virtually everything.

Microsoft produces X1's in Brazil so they get past the tariff BS.

Is Gaming do Brasil responsible for launching it here ?

What a bad job they´re doing. Of course we must consider that it´s a bundle with two games and it´s cheaper than both Xbox One and PS4 (which will come with NO games), but it´s easy to find it imported for about $ BRL 1.400,00 so they could lower the price a bit.
If it was something between $ BRL 1.600-1.700, some consumers would definetely feel incentivated to buy the national version, with warranties and technical support and all that stuff.

I´m glad that finally we will have our version of it and our Eshop working, but the price is still dissapointing

Sadly, our economy, although one of the biggest , still suffer a lot from protectionism, excessive bureaucracy and too much State control. Saying short: our economy is big but it´s not competitive. 

Lets clarify somethings first. Here in brazil the price of a product areadly include all tax on it, even the state taxes. In EUA, this is different, they put the price then a state put their taxes. So, our price is most comparable to the european one, because they also put all the taxes before setting the price. OK, still high.

Another thing, this price is only valid for purchasses with credit card, or in 3x, 4x, 10x, etc. If  you pay at once, you can aways get 10% discount minimum, so its actually reduce the price for $BRL 1671 in some online store around here, if you want to pre-order. The case in point is: if you import, you get no warranty, so is all about how muhc you are willing to expend on this console,  the first model of the generation with some know problems.

About eshop, they actually offered no coments about this. Don't be so certain about this, altough we areadly get our eshop on 3DS.

About Gaming do brasil/lamatel... dunno man, they only are responsible for marketing, not distribuition and setting prices. I actually enjoy that they are coming to more and more cities every time they do a new event. I'm willing to see if they will do one around here(my far, far way city) prior to wiiu launch
