Forums - Sales - Wii USA/PSP Europe: What r u doin, STAHP.

Just a quick little thread to annotate how frustrated it makes me to constantly see the Wii STILL performing well in North America while also the PSP doing great in Europe. STAHP. It's hurting sales of the Wii U and Vita and frankly, it's pissing me off!!! Why do people still buy these old ass consoles?!?!?

Especially because the Vita and (to a lesser extent) the Wii U are struggling badly. They need all the sales they can get.

The Wii sold 20k in North America this week (Nov 2nd) compared to the Wii U at 22k. The PSP sold 19k in Europe this week compared to the Vita at 31k.

Thoughts?

Then why aren't you mad people are still buying PS3s and 360s? Surely those will hurt next gen sales.

Wii U sales in NA seems to be wrong, i mean the bundles sold out prior to launch on the 1st of Novemeber yet the WiiU sales dropped
VERY ODD

edit:unless stores finally got rid of the extra stock they had at launch and are currently out of WiiUs for1 or 2 weeks until they restock

bet with ash3336 he wins if Super Mario 3D World sells less than Mario Sunshine during the first three years, I win if 3D World outsells Sunshine's first 3 years. Loser get sig controlled for 3 months (punishment might change)

Do you doubt the WiiU? Do you believe that it won't match the GC?

Then come and accept this bet

Nintendo obviously want's to stop the sales of the Wii now. The launch of the Wii Mini shows us that.

Flaw with your logic - The Ps4 and Xbone are not out yet. The Vita and Wii U are.

The difference is, the Ps4 and Xbone likely won't suffer from struggles like the Wii U and Vita have for the past year.

No flaw with my logic at all. I'd imagine someone that buys a PS3 or Xbox in November won't be in any hurry to buy a PS4 or X1 anytime soon. I know the latter are not likely to struggle like Wii U and Vita, but PS360 will still take sales from them nonetheless, which is what I thought was the point.

VGChartz constantly changing its numbers. This is just terrible. On a week of Pokemon debut 3DS originally was ~400K worldwide, now that week data with over 480K. Wii U down from 60K last week to 30K+ (26/10), Vita suddenly up in Europe, etc etc. Argh...

I mean, with all this changing we can't argue about many things...

Once the initial launch hype passes, i can see sales of PS3/360 hurting the sales of their successors. This current gen has gone on for too long now.

No, that wasn't my point. Yes, you are correct that the 360 and Ps3 will take sales away. I wanted to focus, however, on the struggling consoles like the Wii U and Vita. And also, while new games game out for Ps3 and 360 this year (big exclusive and multiplatform games) when was the last big game on the PSP or Wii? There isn't a great reason to be buying those consoles these days, and it just hurts the struggling successors.

Nah, I'm buying the $200 PS3 bundle on black friday even though I'll have my Xbox One
