Forums - Microsoft - I lost faith in the future of the xbone

It will be fine, just won't compete with sony as well this time, many are switching from xbox to sony this gen, but xbox has its fans. I work in IT, most of the developers at my work, were xbox guys, all are getting ps4's.

Around the Network

The Xbox One appeals to the core, appeals to casual and appeals as a media box .The xbox one has 3 games at 1080 p ,Kinect sports rivals,Fantasia and Forza 5 double that for titles who are aiming for 60 fps,one of them being Halo, and if you feel betrayed by MS then i guess you missed their e3 press with all of those exclusive new ip´s joining the xbox family. On top of that FF XV and KHIII will be multiplats.

Ms does care about indies( as seen in their gamescom conference or recent reports of free unity tools) they will start rolling out announcements early 2014 combined with their japanese games launch lineup.

Xbox fitness is not crap for people who like those types of games variety is key if you have great studios and partners interested in working with you for that kind of experience would you say no? That´s ignoring part of your fanbase. The kinect has potential no one can deny that, bf4 ghosts and the witcher 3 big multiplats will incorporate kinect features and im just naming a few, that game company is also interested in the technology and so his Kojima and many others that is an important first step.

And dont worry about the launch of the console its not going to outsell ps4 but you can be sure that it will eclipse the xbox 360 launch ,EA predicted that Ms will ship 5 million consoles before the end of their fiscal year,(thats more than wii U has done in a year).
So if you have lost faith ok you have some valid preocupations and opinions but i will tell you this the xbox one is far from finished.

Well... Microsoft needed to have an arrogant Sony launching at 600 dollars and a year long advantage to put up a fight and they still ended up overtaken after 7 years.
I would be worried aswell if i was planning to get one. Sony is alot more competitive and is launching with a price advantage. I cant see any scenario where the PS4 doesnt dominate under these circunstances. It might have a chance on the US, but Europe and Japan are already lost.

Microsoft PR rep detected lol.

The scenario where the PS4 dominates is the best for the Gaming Industrie =] Sony authentic PR.

In a douoply market, neither player can afford to fall too far behind and risk losing software support. thus, as a practical matter, MS nor Sont can let their consoles fail.

IF, and it's a big if, everything goes terrible for xbox, microsoft can slash and burn prices to 299. but they will never let it "fail".

>>Now another reason why I could see the Xbox One failing is the growing adoption rate of Full HD TV’s the Xbone barely offers 1080p . Even the Wii U does it better>>

no. if so, only because the wii u graphics are downgraded. hell in many cases the wii u cannot keep up with xbox 360, so forget about xbox one which is at least 5 times more powerful.

i mean the point here is any console can do 1080p 100% of the time if the graphics are downgraded enough. if some xbox one titles are 720p, it's because they are otherwise identical to the ps4 version. whereas the wii u cannot do graphics identical to ps4 at any resolution.

in fact i kind of think it's a good sign that so far xbone titles are identical to ps4 (same lighting, textures, mostly framerate, etc). most people wont notice 720p or 900p vs 1080p. and it shows devs dont really seem to be looking to increase effects on ps4.

in other words i'd be more worried if ps4 had better looking games at 720p, then ps4 and x1 have the same looking games one at 720 and one at 1080. average people wont notice the latter.

most I know have made a decision to swap over to Sony for next gen, but Xbox will be fine

Better have better graphic than more pixels... but I preffer both, thank good that with this solution they can at least have a compromise between resolution, framerates and effects ending in a good game (not CoD for my taste... but whatever).

Generally the One will sell good because of the fanbase and great games.
