Forums - Microsoft - XOne Supports Native 1080p 60 FPS

OP tries so hard, my mom's 6 year old laptop can support 1080p and 60fps, it depends on what application you're talking about. What's with the defensive threads lately? All I see is xbox fan trying so hard to claim xbox parity with ps4 but never more powerful. How times have changed.

Don't take forza as an example, a racing game with static environment achieving 1080p 60fps is nothing to boast about. Come back when it can achieve open world rpg at 1080p 60fps. Otherwise, stop grasping at the straws, it reeks of desparation.

Bitches about "Xbots" attempting to claim parity then goes and dismisses Forza 5, a AAA 1080p/60 game on X1.

Clown.

No, wipeout has a dynamic resolution. It prioritizes 60 fps and then puts the resolution as high as it can without dropping  framerate. So if an explosion happens and there's a lot on screen, it's far below 1080p.

Super Stardust HD is the only true 1080p 60fps game I can think of, and that wasn't even implemented until years later when they released the 3D patch.

WipEout HD is not always 1920x1080p but it is always 1080p... the vertical resolution didn't change... 1600x1080, 1500x1080, 1700x1080, etc.

1080p.

GT5 and GT6 are 1080p@60fps too but  1280x1080 and 1440x1080 (I need to confirm this one).

I'm of course refering to 1920X1080, not just the vertical resolution. Most people consider 1080p as 1920X1080.

?? froza doesn;t prove anything, any game can be 1080p 60 FPS, depends on what they had tos acrifice to get it there. Fact is, Ps4 has to sacrifice a lot less to get there.

Like I said, Forza is the only "AAA" 1080p title on xboxone. Read my post again, I clearly stated that it isn't much of an impressive feat for an arcade racing game to hit 1080p. Come back to me again when a next generation rpg game like skyrim hit 1080p 60fps on xbox one, if ever. Until then, shut up.

Do you even know what dynamic resolution means?

I know what it means for WipEout HD... it is always 1080p: 1920x1080, 1800x1080, 1700x1080... I guess it goes lower like 1500x1080.

That's how the game mantain solid 60fps.

That how works "Dynamic Resolution" in WipEout HD.

I'm pretty sure it does, even PS3 did with PSN games and HD remakes from the PS2 era... but does X1 support complex graphics at 1080p/60FPS all while running a mighty but resource hungry OS? doubt it.

Both GPU's are a little disappointing IMO. Tim Sweeny was really pushing for 2.5 Tflops, and even then games wouldn't look that dramatically better.

Yeah the GPUs really are disappointing but i do agree with your over all post.

As for Tim Sweeny and EPIC Games (Theyre my fav devs)  they were being a bit too unrealistic.  Alot of what they were asking for would have put the consoles at a very steep price.  No way would MSFT have been able to do that with Kinect added.  Sony may have been able to have done it without including the camera but Im sure they didnt want another $600 box either.

I love EPIC but I just think they were asking for too much.  None the  less they said they are developing everything for PC now.   Im really hoping Fortnite finds its way to consoles though.  Been waiting forever to hear more about it.

Well, I also suspect it's like someone asking for a huge raise so they would get some bargaing room.   This is because how he acted later - more happy with what they got and saying it wasn't completely needed.  But it worked when he asked for more RAM on the Xbox 360, so why not aim high?

Those kind of cards would still be close to half the cost of the system if you look at current retail prices.  So it would be asking quite a bit for the console manufactures.  And with diminishing returns, it's not as sweet in real life as it sounds.

I don't know how much the new Kinect cost, but it sure seems an expensive.  Plus has to be tough to manufacture as it's really a sensitive piece of equiptment with all the fast calcuations it has to be doing. It is such a huge improvement over the old one - which I think cost about $50 for the hardware to manufacture, not including all the R&D.  But hey, before Kinect equiptment that could do what it could do was like $10K.

But if you compair the graphics of Crackdown to Halo 4, there will be plenty of improvements on the next few years.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

Sony do very sensitive cameras =] no problem at all...

And you would be impressed by the quality of some optical instruments made in Japan =]

Now on a more serious note, developers asking for more power (they will always do it) is like your employee asking for more colleages because ge can't met his quota... usually working better is a preferable solution.

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

PS3 and Wii U are capable of 1080p60fps, but that doesn't mean all games will be.

Fact is a 3rd party game on every system known to man that does not push the boundaries of console power, could not do it on Xb1 while it could on PS4.
