I noticed in the recent hardware sales results that the 3DS is selling as well in North America and Europe as it is in Japan. It was always significantly lower in the west than Japan. I used to think the western territories would never warm to the 3DS in the same way the Japanese have. Or could this just be Pokemon X/Y fever hangover, and in a few weeks western sales go below Japanese figures? 3DS owners, what are your thoughts?

That 2DS could definitely be helping out!

Pokémon is definitely one main reason, it's really popular here. I think it will keep up for some time, especially up to Christmas.

Ill wait and see how the figures look in a couple weeks, but I doubt they will continue to match Japan's sales.

japan is mainly a handheld nation these days where as west is more home console so don't expect miracles lol.

3DS is breaking records left and right in Japan

The 3DS/2DS is a beast right now.  I would expect it to do huge numbers through the end of the year.

Netflix & Hulu Plus both have 3D streaming, and the 3DS is the only one offering glasses-free 3D. Don't forget the 3DS XL.

Flipnote Studio 3D is on its way, and there's no way any minors can post any photos of their private parts.....I'm looking at you SwapNote.

Lets not forget the ton of JRPGs coming and Monster Hunter 4 in the West as well, and many other games.

The 3DS is just getting started and it already has a line up for 2014 to crush all. The Vita has it's work cut out for it.
