Although COD Ghosts thus far has a larger total pre-order on Xbox1 compared to PS4 in North America, this week's pre-order number was much more for the PS4 version of COD Ghosts, and I would directly correlate this to the news of COD Ghosts only being 720p on Xbox1.  I would think this trend will continue until the release of these games, so I would expect the total pre-order for the PS4 COD Ghosts will be greater on release, and more larger total sale of the PS4 COD in North America.

Because COD Ghosts will be the most influential game leading to sale of the next gen consoles, this is a sign that PS4 console will outsell Xbox1 in North America.  Also, for all the other launch multiplat games (BF4, Madden 25, Assassin's Creed 4), the pre-orders are already substantially larger for the PS4 versions.

That's quite a claim bro. It is still early (too early). MSFT could pull the Titanic from their ass and change things up on the COD/FPS front. Plus, I get the impression the reso might be higher next time when the devs become more familiar with the system.

The extra units are due to ps4 launching sooner. Nothing else.

Dont think 720p news has anything much to do with it - It launches a week earlier so xbox one has that advantage

Although I'm not a big fan of COD, the COD players have herd mentality.... It's not few people that are switching over but whole groups of friends. Initially, I think supply will dictate the console sales because both will sell out. However after the initial sales, I do think that COD sales will also dictate which system will sell more in the US.

It won't affect this cod since I doubt that many people bought both consoles and I doubt many people are going to cancel there x1 and take the chance of not playing cod the day it comes out

But if the next cod isn't the same on both then yes so by will probably get the cod crowd

I imagine the lower resolution wont playa very significant role in swaying people from xbox one. The will still be getting better than what they are used to and their network of friends from xbl will matter more than resolution on a multiplat launch game.

Well, the 1080p(?) is a really simple and nice number that people can talk about with their friends. Young kids are fickles too, so it might get some to switch over, who knows.

I don't think it's an absolute game changer, but it really does set the narative IMO in a powerful way.
