$100 million?

That is a big aquisition, but remember that this is about 1% of the money Nintendo has in the bank, unless I'm horribly misunderstanding economic info.

If they were buying a game developer or something, that would likely have to be one in the 50 to 250 employee range. A bit of a big range, I know, but it depends on how well the developer/publisher is doing.

The only possible BIG acquisition I can think of, would be something like 51% of Capcom, which is in dire straits at the moment. Otherwise, Nintendo would be limited to individual developers like Platinum Games or maybe Level-5.

Personally, I suspect that this is either money spent on quality of life stuff on non-game parts of the console and handheld business, like online infrastructure.

I read that they spent it on tech, so more likely on this "new hardware at E3" rumor. Which is either QoL, or Wii U redesign.

I have no idea what it is... QoL?
But then again, it`s non-wearable stuff. And they have spent a lot of R&D lately.
Could they be speeding up new HW due to the decline of 3DS and bad Wii U sales?
