Plans for Mario Golf DLC unveiled

Mario Golf: World Tour swings into action next week, and early listing errors revealed DLC for the title. Now that the dust has settled Nintendo has come out and confirmed details of the DLC offerings, including a pass to get all content at a discounted rate.

North America

Mushroom Pack — 2nd May ($5.99)

Includes two new 18-hole courses and Toadette as a playable character.

Flower Pack — "later in May" ($5.99)

Includes two new 18-hole courses and Nabbit as a playable character.

Star Pack — June ($5.99)

Includes two new 18-hole courses and Rosalina as a playable character.

Season Pass — From 2nd May ($14.99)

Includes all three packs as they're released

Gold Mario playable character, with a special Golden Flower shot that awards coins for every yard of a shot.

Europe

Mushroom Pack — 2nd May (€5.99 / £5.39)

Includes two new 18-hole courses and Toadette as a playable character.

Flower Pack — "later in May" (€5.99 / £5.39)

Includes two new 18-hole courses and Nabbit as a playable character.

Star Pack — June (€5.99 / £5.39)

Includes two new 18-hole courses and Rosalina as a playable character.

Season Pass — From 2nd May (€11.99 / £10.79 until 31st May, then €14.99 / £13.49)

Gold Mario playable character, with a special Golden Flower shot that awards coins for every yard of a shot.

Gold Mario will also be given to those that buy all three packs separately, available to those players once the Star Pack has arrived in June. Trial Tournaments will also be offered to give interested players a chance to try the DLC courses for free — all of the DLC combined will add six courses (108 holes) and four characters. Nintendo of America's Scott Moffitt has said the following about the DLC.

The 2DS came out, remember.

They also halted release for new 3D Classics.

But the 3DS will have gone more then 3 years without a price cut, come October 2014. I expect an up to $70 price cut in the maximum. But releastically, maybe only a $50 price cut. It's been making a profit since 2012, and now the end of 2014 is coming. I wonder what kind of price cut the 3DS XL will get.....probably just an $30 to $50 price cut, probably somewhere from $40 to $50 price cut.

Theres also full 3D Movies from Warner Bros. & Disney & Dreamworks (Need for Speed movie, anyone) coming out on the 3DS.

The 2DS has been selling really poorly during 2014 for some reason. But Nintendo was probably planning on only giving people who only want Pokémon, an up to 1 year chance to get the 2DS anyways. Either way, it seems like Nintendo has plans on discontinuing the 2DS before November 2014. But did Nintendo plan to discontinue the 2DS since before release, or is it because of both lack of Hardware sales + lack of 2D game content (Pokémon X & Y and Witch & Hero, for example).

What does that have to do with Flipnote Studio?

it was probably because of the swapnote incident last year coming right around the supposed Flipnote 3D release. Flipnote 3D was released prior to the incident in Japan and it's services were rollbacked like Swapnote if i recall correctly.

So they spent months deciding whether or not they should give us Flipnote... Makes sense!
