Because I don't like fighting games in general and I want to be hyped for it, especially as there aren't a ton of other games on Wii U for the rest of the year. Are Smash games easy to pick up? Would you still recommend them to non-fighting fans? |
Yes, I highly recommend Smash, especially if you got a friend or two, or three to play with! Maybe there will actually be a useful online mode this time as well.
Haven't you tried it? If so, it's not as "stiff" as other fighters, it has much more jumping etc.
I recommend you to watch gameplay of them all, 64, Melee and Brawl to get the general idea if you haven't tried them out.

Thanks for replying. I have watched some videos of the game before and I think I get what you're saying about it being less stiff, it seems a lot more frenetic and jumpy like you said. Unfortunately I don't really know anyone else with a Wii U personally but there is always online.
I guess I'll check out the Direct later and hopefullyit will look really appealing.

Yeah, I can add that back in the day when I first tried Melee with a friend I got my ass kicked, it played too fast if you know what I mean. The characters jumped really fast and landed very fast and so on. Then I got to try SSB 64 and it was much slower, with that I learned the game much quicker.
When Brawl came out it was again a little slower than Melee, I got pretty good at it. And when you're starting to get good, it is much more fun to play. This new installment for Wii U and 3DS will be a little bit closer to Melee in speed, but not too fast.
Hope this made sense. Either way, it's going to be one of the best games for Wii U and one of the games you will play for the longest amount of time.
