Damn work taking all of my at-home time as well. One suggestion to you peeps, never own a frigging packaging agency >_>.

Been slowly progressing through Prime 3. Playing through 3 after having played Prime and Echoes, you really see some of the shortcoming that Corruption had, such as it being much more linear, lacking in some fine details such as the logbook being extremely generic and the lack of diversity between items.

Yeah, it is definitely the weakest, even if Echoes is more frustrating. Still a great game. But weaker.

You also forgot the lack of atmosphere and how you only have the one beam weapon. I hope a new Prime will be more like the first two, but anything would be nice.

And you own a packing company? That sounds pretty cool!

Yeah, the beam-weapon stacking is a bit annoying, but having played the previous primes with the Wii control schematics, switching beams with the mote isn't as intuitive as with the GC controls. It's actually pretty intrusive during some intense boss fights, where you have to switch beams and visors, because you have to flick the mote to the respective visor/beam positions, throwing off your aim completely. So I get why they made the beams stack on Corruption.

Actually I didn't find Echoes to be that frustrating, neither on my first playthrough nor on this one. It's much more backtracking intensive, true, but that's due to the Aether/Dark Aether duality. That, and Echoes being much larger than the original Prime (Aether alone has more rooms than the whole Tallon world).

Not an entire packing company per-se, just a franchised agency. All the hassles and annoyances of owning a company plus low-profit margins because the mother company takes away a 55 - 60% slice cut out of our overall revenue.

Never really thought of it like that, but I never played the Prime games before Trilogy, so I don't know how they were on GC. So I was used to using the Wiimote to select things, so it never bothered me. I guess it could be annoying though, if you played the GC titles.

It wasn't that Echoes was annoying. Trying to find all of the keys was, and also the save points were very spread out (the Sanctuary is a good example). There's also fewer shortcuts which open up, making backtracking more painful. But I still really enjoyed it!

On the GC Visors and Beams were tied to the D-Pad and the C-Pad respectively, so it was pretty intuitive to switch visors/beams on the fly, you just had to press the respective pad button and you could still keep your aim on the target. Now, this is a trade off for the slightly annoying having to press R to Free Look, as now Free Look is tied to the motion of the wiimote, but in that aspect I find the GC controls slightly better.

So it's basically this: Motion, Aiming and overall gameplay (Spring Ball is one of the best additions possible with the Wiimote) is much better with the new control schemes. Switching between beams, visors was more intuitive before. So overall, the Trilogy versions are superior even in that aspect.

I agree with you there, especially regarding the Sky Temple keys. Some of them were hidden in completely ridiculous places that even the scan-clues gave no sense of direction whatsoever, plus the enemies hiding the keys could only be seen with the Dark Visor. And yeah. Sanctuary is a Pain, especially if you don't discover Save Point 2, near Dark Samus 2 fight.

Nintendo denies smartphone software rumor, says it has 'no plans' to offer mini-games on rival hardware

Well.. so much for the mini-games rumor. I really don't care about mobile mini-games though honestly, just market for a change!

No real shock there, I must say.

No, but the other side of that rumor was that they'd be using mobile devices to market their hardware/software. I hope they still intend on doing that, even if without the little mini-games that were described by Nikkei.

Yeah, I hope that bit is true. They definitely need to spread the word, and I'm all for it!

The longer they wait on a new Direct, the better it will be. If we don't get another one til February, that's a good thing. It means eight weeks of pent-up announcements instead of four-to-six.

And the closer we get to February/March without a date for Mario Kart 8 means the next ND will have a firm date and not simply repeat "Spring 2014", so I think that is something to look forward to.

I hope Zelda Warriors or whatever they end up calling it is a $15-$20 eShop game and not a full retail game. It will give people something to play until Smash comes out, which probably won't be out until fall.

The Screamapillar is easily identified by its constant screaming—it even screams in its sleep. The Screamapillar is the favorite food of everything, is sexually attracted to fire, and needs constant reassurance or it will die.

Best Puzzle Game- Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy

There's just something so captivating about Professor Layton. He's the non-hero, always solving puzzles as opposed to fighting. But somehow, it works, and the final entry of the series is no different. On a globetrotting adventure, the Professor goes around the world with Luke, Emmy, Professor Sycamore and the Azran messanger Aurora to find the secrets of the Azran. But is it all it seems? It's the final game of the series, so naturally stakes and emotions are high as the game draws to a close, and there's plenty of twists in the closing moments to keep you on your toes. Along with the excellent puzzles as always, Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy was the only possible winner for this catergory, and rightly so.

After all, Critical Thinking is the key to success.
