Also, poll has been updated. Sadly I forgot to save a picture as usual, but, well, Lestatdark said it all.

So with a Nintendo Direct just around the corner (surely?), what exactly do you think we will see? New IPs? How about that new Zelda game? Or will it be a bit...you know...dull?

I expect new info on the already revealed games and maybe 1 or 2 new games for the 3DS. But they'll save the big reveals for E3.

The problem with saving the big reveals for E3 is that they don't have that much time to afford in terms of publicity. They need to announce something resounding and fast, even if it's just a prelude to a potential price cut when MK8 or SSB release.

That alone would at least tide them over until E3 where they could go all out.

Are you crazy!? They can't hint a price cut before it happens or sales will fall... even more.

And while E3 lasts only a few days, the coverage from the media last weeks.

Okay, no price cut hint then. But they still need to do something to garner some positive feedback from the media (and i'm not talking about the gaming media, that's currently a hideous bog that Nintendo doesn't want to mess around) and get some customers back.

E3 is still a long way to go and things are not good for them at the start of this year.

@Poll: Hopefully new game announcements. We'll probably get a lot of release dates (X, Mario Kart, Bayonetta, SSB4, etc), but there is a big possibility that a new Metroid is announced, with the easter egg in DKC TF and Reggies pin at VGX. Also, less possible F Zero/Starfox/Kid Icarus/AnimalCrossing... Why do people think Nintendo is only Mario and Zelda. And why does Nintendo not change it's popular view?

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

They can will get a lot of attention with new footage and info about Bayonetta and X.

They can save Smash or Zelda (or Metroid) until E3.

I'm not so sure about Bayonetta. While I would love to hear more info from it (one of the main reasons I got the U as well), I fear it would only bring back all the same threads about how "outraged" people are that the game is on the U, nevermind the fact that Nintendo actually saved the franchise.

X, now that would be amazing .

I don't think there will be many new game announcements, and if there are any they'll be on 3DS. Wii U still has too many previously announced games to cover! Also if MK8 doesn't get a date by February's direct, we'll have to assume the worst, it's delayed! D:

Nintendo would  have to be very dumb to delay the game that has the most chances to make the Wii U more relevant. I truly hope that's not the case!

Have they announced a new Nintendo Direct?

Thanks for the ideas Salnax! I shall get on it and have a look into it.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

I think it'd be a bit dumber to release an unfinished game though. :L

No, but they've had a Direct in some form every month for over a year now, so it's safe to assume this trend will continue, especially when there's plenty they could talk about right now.
