Nope, weapon levels are saved..

For example if I had a healer with A rank Staves and switch to Peg knight, the healer will still have A rank staff, but can NOT use the staff. So if you switch back to the healer, your rank will be saved

Example 2: If you switch from Merc into Cavalier, you will still keep your sword stats and get an additional lance (E rank)

...so I am assuming your unit did not use the axe before, so that is why s/he has an E rank axe

tldr? Each person has weapon proficiencies. Though not all are usuable for a specific class at once, they will be saved for that character

Yeah, figured it out on my own, but thanks anyway. Had to buy him a bronze axe and now he uses an iron axe. Is it worth using a master seal on wyvern rider? Dragons are cool.

Tharja and Frederick got married as did Lissa and some dude who's name I don't know as well. Tharja reminds of the depressed chick in Avatar the last Airbender. :p

It all depends on how you want to build your team. You can have a highly mobile team with a lot of flyers but it depends on your tastes.. For each FE game, I usually go with 2 flyers on my team, 1 Falcon Knight and 1 Wyvern ______ . I find flyers quite broken actually, because firstly, they can fly over almost everything. Falcon Knights are fast, high res, and can get galeforce (indirectly). Wyvern _____ are basically generals that can fly. Both can easily take out archers before they even get close. (No ballistas in this game!) Plus, if you max stats and Limit Break them, then they are OP.

Honestly, it doesn't really matter who you use your Master Seals on because
a) You can buy more (unlike older games which are limited)
b) You can reclass them after level 10 into another promoted unit

Have fun with Fire Emblem !! :)

wait wait wait! No ballistas in awakening? Jesus christ flyers are OP now.

Yup, I consider flyers as one of the best classes in the game because their long ranged weakness is gone. For me, I think the only classes that rivals them in tiers are Manaketes, Dread Fighters, and Sorcerers

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

I disagree completely, and this is why:

1. On controls, the original trilogy definitely has MUCH better controls, not even an argument. The newer games are slower, heavier, and laggier than the originals. Not to mention there was that bizarre 'shake the Wii mote' gimmick control method that they put in Donkey Kong Returns, that really made the controls annoying and slowed down the game tremendously.

2. You bring up higher technology, but despite that, the environments and models of the originals still end up being prettier than the new ones. Despite all of that extra power and polygons put into the new games, the are arguably not as pretty from an artistic standpoint. The newer games end up having this washed out looking flash style graphics. The 20 year old originals went with a stylized artistic approach based on claymation, which give the world ta lush waxy sheen. The original trilogy look much more colourful and much more lively, and they achieved this over two decades ago on 25 year old hardware:

When Donkey Kong Country came out on the SNES, it was groundbreaking. DKC Returns is pretty meh, and the latest struggles to come close to some Indie titles, like Trine.

3. The Kremlings were WAY better than the weird drum things with wings in  or anything from DKC TF. What is it with that weird cylinder end boss thing? King K-Rool was WAAAAAAAY better than that.

4. Speaking of K-Rool, it's that sort of comedy that makes the original trilogy much more charming on top of just all around better. In Donkey Kong Country he was a King on a Pirate ship, in DKC2 he was a pirate in a Science lab, and in DKC 3 he was a scientist in a castle. Instead DKC Return gives you this boring piece of wood as an end boss:

5. Despite the extra tech, they didn't really use it to add variety over the originals. You got the rhino back, but that was about it. it was definitely lacking here.

6. Also, memorable levels? In the original game, you start out with that beautiful jungle level, followed by the dark thunderstorm level where you swing along the vines like Tarzan, before heading to the first underground level with the bouncy tires, then the underwater level where you meet the swordfish for the first time, then the level with all the barrel blasting that was fast enough to even make Sonic fans jealous... Just about every single level across the first two games were memorable, and the third game had that really cool opened up way of moving around the map, which had hidden secrets scattered around. DKC Returns is more of just a mash of old rehashed ideas mixed with uninspired design, without really much in the way of having standout levels. Plus the maps sucked, moving around the map is just an icon on a very flat crappy looking souless board, it was the most primitive looking thing the series ever had.

1. The original controls were tight, but they didn't quite have the sense of flowing momentum the new games have. And I never had any problems with the Wiimote shaking.

2. Due to their pre-rendered nature, the environments of the SNES trilogy were fairly static. In the new games, levels broke apart or transformed on the fly, there were far more moving parts and interactive elements.

3-4. I don't think the Kremlings were any more memorable than the Snowmads from Tropical Freeze. And DKCR's final boss was a cool Starfox throwback; the disembodied head and hands.

5. There was tons of variety. Almost every level introduced a new mechanic or a new twist on an old one.

6. The Retro games had tons of memorable levels; the lava mine cart ride, being attacked by a giant octopus, a prairie fire, a tornado, being chased by a living avalanche of spiders, working your way up a mountain until you're above the clouds, etc.

All 5 games are great, but I'd have to give the slight edge to Retro's work.

Since the DKC discussion is ongoing, which game would you guys recommend? DKC, Diddy's Kong Quest, or Dixie's Double Trouble?

Diddy's Kong Quest, easily the best of the SNES trilogy, and still one of the best 2D platformers I have played.

Is Diddy Kongs Quest really that good?

Just finished Majora's Mask 3D. What a sincerely beautiful game. It's funny, even though it's Rated E, it's easily one of the most mature and emotional gaming experiences I've ever had. I think it's something that every gamer should play at least once.

The final boss was a breeze though since I had the fierce deity mask. I wasn't about to get every mask in the game and not abuse my reward. Pshhh.

Therefore, I won't be able to dicuss much about this game with you :(

Still waiting for this to go on sale (but it won't happen anytime soon) :P
