That makes sense! I never owned any DS iteration (a tragedy, I know) so I kinda missed out on all that. I always wanted one though. Out of all the handhelds I've owned (GBA, GBA SP, PSP, 3DS XL and New 3DS XL) I'd say the N3DSXL is my favorite in terms of design. It's very comfortable, has a lot of functions and looks great.

The PS Vita looks pretty appealing design-wise too.

@skullwaker,

What do you think about the card slot being at the bottom and the charger at the top of the n3DS? I think it looks a bit weird but I'm not really sure.

Also, where is the mic and audio jack on the n3DS?

yeah it would be possible but it wouldnt be the same and certainly wouldnt look all that great and it would have aged badly.

I thought the placement of the card slot looked a bit weird when I saw video of it online, but it really doesn't bother me. Also, I think the charger has always been on the top of the 3DS, but don't quote me on that.

The audio jack is in the bottom center, and the mic is in the same place as it was before.

Yeah, the charger was at the top since GBA SP (I think) but putting it top center as a replacement for the game slot looks weird to me... (normally it would be top right or top left)

The verticle charging dock looks awkward but this is just me nitpicking :)

Playing through the Wii U version of Splinter Cell Blacklist, and it's surprisingly good.

The framerate does take a hit when the action heats up, but the Gamepad integration is really well done, as it actually feels like something Sam Fisher would use. Switching weapons and gadgets on the second screen without having to flick through menus is a breeze, and using it for the Snakecam is a nice touch.

The game runs in slightly better image quality than the last gen releases too, with a higher screen resolution, and the screen tearing that marred the PS3 and 360 totally banished.
