Good news, everyone!
E3's page has already been updated with some good news for Nintendo fans.
Last year, Nintendo had 3 rooms (4822, 5244, 5644), but this year it's adding a theatre to those 3 rooms.
Nokia theatre isn't part of the available spaces as it's not part of the actual showroom floors.
Could this mean that Nintendo has something up it's sleeve or just decided that a small theatre is the best way for a new Smash like tournament?

Interesting.
The smaller theatre would be better as the Smash craze would be much lower by then, but if the theatre is inside the convention center, attendees to that tournament would need to have E3 passes, right? With that said, maybe it will be a Splatoon tournamet with the press to promote the game, which should launch be then.
Alternatively, they could use that theater to closed doors activities, needing the big screen to properly show what they are planning to do.
Please excuse my bad English.

If they have their own theatre booked for the whole show, they could even have a tournament for each day of E3. One day for Smash, one day for Splatoon, one day for some other MP game (Mario Party, Star Fox, Xenoblade?). Definitely interested to see how they make use of it.

True that. 3 days, 3 tournaments.

Wooo just got done playing Smash for 4 hours. Game has been fucking amazing so far although I still suck at it as usual.
Midnight launch was uber quiet though, no more than 30 people. Kinda sad because Destiny and Pokemon both pulled well over 100, possibley 150+ here. I mean I know both of those are much bigger but still the store normally wouldnt even open for such a small launch.
Nintendomination, it is I. Slarvax. I've come to show the GOTY winner for 2014.

Actually, don't watch that. Save yourself 2 minutes, and just ignore that crap.
Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

As JEMC mentioned, access to the convention floor is restricted. That`s probably why Nintendo went with Nokia Theatre last year for the Smash competition.
Again, if it used NT last year, it can very well do it again this year and an oficial announcement might come later.
Now, i have no idea how big is the theatre there. It could be something big, medium size or small. So, it could be anything, really.
Personally, i think that if there's another tournament it will be on the Nokia theatre. This seems to be something different.

Not sure. I think retail, but no word on a localization yet. As far as I know anyway.
