I expect growth or stagnation, no decline next gen, unless of course the steam box is a massive success or that apple introduce the expensivebox in 2015, the only market shrinking will be the handheld market.

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Completely agree. There is just no way I'll be a full on idort this gen like I was the previous gen. I dunno if I ever plan on buying the Wii U, it just simply does not have the support to justify it. The XBONE will probably not have the exclusives I'm going to want for a couple years, just like the previous gen. So the only year one buy is going to be the PS4.

Maybe, maybe, several years from now I get all three consoles. But in general the hype surrounding all three consoles is just not the same. Except to say that the PS4 is at least on par this gen with the XBONE whereas last gen the PS3 had a bomb of a launch and took several years to gain speed. I don't think that will be repeated this time around.

everything is down 10m from it's predeccesor so far ):

Core gamers can't support their own industry growing larger and more expensive. We need more of those games that appeal to everyone (GTA, Mario etc). I don't seen many games with more than an indie budget taking huge risks this coming gen.

Now couple a declining user base with increasing software development costs and see where you end up.
