Forums - Sales - Europe: -10k WiiU's shipped in past 6 months

I guess they over estimated what the WiiU could sell initially, since it took so long to sell off the hardware they only had to restock 10k.

Not good.

wow. i wouldn't even thought that was possible.

Another solid reason why Nintendo should go the way of third parties. People want Nintendo games, not Nintendo consoles. It's been like this since the N64.

And what would Nintendo gain from this, financially?

Uh, huge sales from the 80 million install base in current gen consoles such as PS3 and 360. The PS4 and Xbone will probably have the same at the end of the future gen cycle.

The original Wii was a fluke, no way will Nintendo ever pass 30 million with the Wii U.

This really shouldn't be controversial, experts like Pacher have advocated this for years.

like Pacher....

now I have to believe

Again, how will they make more money that way?

I think you read it wrong ...

its a negative number ... the retailers have send units back to nintendo which resulted a 'negative' shipping number for the last 6months.

so actually the retailers didn't get any units this quarter but sending back the left over units back to nintendo.

wait thats for real? i mean, it isnt some users fucking around? that really happened?

If it is true it is just from the beginning of this last quarter. This past month should have been much more busy for the Wii U. Zelda bundle, Zelda, Mario Bundle, plus other various games releasing for it.

Although it does seem to take a while for Europe to warm up to Nintendo.

I've thought about this, and I think the quality of their games would take a serious hit. While they develop their own hardware, their developers can have a say in building a machine with the tools and architecture they want to work with. If their quality stayed up to par, then it wouldn't be an issue for me, bu they're so damn rich it can't happen any time soon.

Wind Waker HD, pushed Wii U to those sales. Great boost.

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

Oh damn, yeah I did read it wrong :S

it's only -10k could be worse, like -100k

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.
