IGN had an interview with the producers and it appears that the movie has a very low budget which explains the visual quality.

Yeah, I do not mean to be mean, but this looks like a student project or a direct to DVD level film.  I cannot imagine this will do well in cinemas even among gaming fans.  Oddly, it could end up being the most authentic translation of game to film.

whats wrong with the CGI ? it looks really good
the only thing that I dont really like is that it seems like a retelling of the game. but it looks very good.
If you dont think so please tell me whats wrong with it

it does look bad

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

The obsession with graphics here is disturbing.
Anyways, loved the game and I'm sure i will enjoy this when i get my hands on it.

Will watch because of Anna Torv and because of the awesomeness of Heavy Rain. Wish it was a new story, but alas.

Why not make a movie of Lair and Haze, while you're at it.

Heavenly Sword is a great game.

That said, the animation looks worse than the game. Nariko looks good, but the villians look worse than I remember.

Lair isn't that bad

Honestly, Heavenly Sword wasn't memorable for me. Maybe because hack n' slash games are not for me (I did enjoy Castlevania Lords of Shadows, though. And me love some Onimusha). The only good thing about HS was the final boss battle. Pretty epic and actually challenging; something that was missing on the rest of the game.

I thought it was a joke but you're all acting serious and stuff so now I don't know what to believe. :/

its serious. i can assure you.

Oh snap. The budget must be really low then, as in non-existant.
