Give it up already, bro. LOL

Yeah but the Respawn  guy seems so sad.

dont fall for that

he is acting.

his pocket is full

MS funding Gears pretty much funded Cliffy B's "retirement". Its the truth, their pockets are full. They will make a lot of money but they will make even more because of what MS is paying them for exclusivity (covering lost funds that though multiplat couldn't otherwise be recouped). I remember Pachter talking about the fact that when a company moneyhats exclusivity generally they have to pay all of that, so I agree, theres no sadness.

Cliff Bleszinki did make a ton of money but he isnt retired.  He is working on a game right now actually.

Also Cliff, Rod, and a few others left when that Chinese company bought a lot of shares.  It has never been revealed but on speculation it is rumored they left because the changes inside of EPIC Games.  Which really saddens me if true because Cliff and Rod ferguson as a team was awesome.  Also EPIC Games is my favorite developers.

Regardless im hoping Cliff's new game is great.  Cant wait til they reveal more on it.

Good call on Microsoft's part to get this game locked in to their consoles. All signs point to it becoming a huge franchise, and it'll likely convince quite a few people to pick up an X1. I already knew of plenty of friends citing this game as the one they'd buy the system for, and if it's a Lifetime "exclusive" (yes, I know it's still on PC) that will surely sway some more people's purchase decision.

You're overselling this game. The original Xbox had Halo and Halo 2 yet got absolutely DESTROYED by the PS2. As big as Titanfall is and could be, it'll never be Halo big lol.

Youre right.  Halo 5 is coming out next year as well.

I don't understand. I point out that Halo and Halo 2 didn't sell the original Xbox at all, and then you comment that Halo 5 is coming out on Xbone. Are you saying the Xbone doesn't stand a chance? I'm confused.

Im saying they have something bigger than TitanFall next year.  If XBO fails then it fails, but TitanFall is hardly the biggest game to be released for XBO next year either and shouldnt be treated as the only big game for next year.

I'm the biggest Halo fan there is but that franchise has run it's course imo. Halo 4 came and went with a whisper and games like COD,Battlefield and Titanfall have all eclipsed it as far as hype etc. Halo USE to be what COD is now, minus the yearly cycle BS. That isn't the case anymore.

If you look at the way MS has been craming Titanfall down our throats, nonstop, it's clear even they are betting their entire gaming division on this one single game. It's the only game thus far that has any real sort of killer app buzz. I'm curious to see how they're going to prevent 360 owners from buying it there instead of buying an Xbone. I think THAT'S going to be their biggest problem. Will they make sure to gimp it in some way on purpose? Who knows.

There are two possible loop holes I see in this situation that are pretty likely to happen. PS4 is GOING to outsell XBOne this holiday, on into when Titanfall arrives supposedly. EA will want to cash in on the larger Userbase.

1. Sony seems to be ok with late Ports of games as long as they come with additional content. Ninja Gaiden was under contract as Xbox Exclusive from what I recall, but The Dev team got around that by creating "Sigma" which was really only an up port polished up real nice but treated like a new entry.

2. The game doesn't have a Single Player anyway, which is the real only differenciator between most shooters and their sequels. This game will of course get a sequel. Odds are if the game is successful EA will serialize it ala CoD and Battlefield. With only multiplayer to worry about this should be a fairly easy task. In the same amount of time they would have to port it to PS4(with extra content per mandated by Sony for late Ports) they might as well put forth the effort into 2. So basically like most delayed releases from Xbox360 to PS3, XBO will act as a Beta testing frenzy and when it arrives for PS4 they will have ironed most of the big bugs out.

Regardless, this game doesn't really interest me in the slightest :/

meh, since it is multiplayer only, I'm guessing EA will be happy taking the money from microsoft for exclusivity and then just make the sequel multiplatform.  Since there isn't a single player portion for people to miss, I don't think there will be much demand on other platforms for the first one once the sequel hits.  I also doubt the exclusivity agreement would expire before a sequel hits.

Also, by the time titanfall comes out, there wont be a huge difference in install bases by then.  Most analysts are predicting them to be about even with a slight edge for one or the other.  My guess is neither will fill demand until well into next year, so initially it will be about whoever can supply the most.

Halo 4 has sold 8.5m and will likely end up near 10m so I would hardly say it has died down.  Though yes CoD is more popular than Halo.

Halo 4 wont be advertised until early next year most likely due to the fact it is being release Q4 of next year when TitanFall is being released Q1.  Halo is one of the most advertised games in the business and to this day is one of the most popular games.  And from a franchise that has sold nearly 50m in one generation I would highly doubt it just randomly falling off a cliff.

Halo 5 will likely be the biggest system seller for XBO next year.

Project Spark / Dead Rising 3

Killer Instinct / Ryse

Forza etc... MS has killer apps not app.

Titanfall is getting more attention because of Sony fans not because it is the only hyped game.

The reception Killer Instinct been having lately has been dwarfing Titanfall until today.

Have you checked how amazing Project Spark is? And it's gonna be FREE? Not rented, no Gold program. Freezee, the community itself gonna hype this game up.

I wouldn't underestimate Halo and MS ability to market a game.  Halo 5 is going to be on a new system with a lot more capability that can radically change the game in many ways.  It will be a different experience, something that will atract many halo fans, reguardless on whether or not they have given up on the franchise.

How could microsoft gimp a game they aren't developing or publishing?  They don't have any control over what EA or Respawn does to the game on any platform.  That being said, of course the 360 version will be gimped compared the the x1 and pc.  The hardware is completely different and dated in comparison.  The 360 won't be able to render the same effects and graphics as the other systems.

The only Killer App is Titanfall in my opinion when it comes to all consoles at launch (and then its Killzone for me). Killer Instincts reception has never dwarfted Titanfall. Hell, even Titanfall made Destiny seem like a second rate game when Destiny will have more to do. The sheer fun and replay value of the quick matches will be addictive enough.
