PS4 is GOING to outsell XBOne this holiday, on into when Titanfall arrives supposedly. EA will want to cash in on the larger Userbase. 1. Sony seems to be ok with late Ports of games as long as they come with additional content. Ninja Gaiden was under contract as Xbox Exclusive from what I recall, but The Dev team got around that by creating "Sigma" which was really only an up port polished up real nice but treated like a new entry. 2. The game doesn't have a Single Player anyway, which is the real only differenciator between most shooters and their sequels. This game will of course get a sequel. Odds are if the game is successful EA will serialize it ala CoD and Battlefield. With only multiplayer to worry about this should be a fairly easy task. In the same amount of time they would have to port it to PS4(with extra content per mandated by Sony for late Ports) they might as well put forth the effort into 2. So basically like most delayed releases from Xbox360 to PS3, XBO will act as a Beta testing frenzy and when it arrives for PS4 they will have ironed most of the big bugs out. Regardless, this game doesn't really interest me in the slightest :/ |
meh, since it is multiplayer only, I'm guessing EA will be happy taking the money from microsoft for exclusivity and then just make the sequel multiplatform. Since there isn't a single player portion for people to miss, I don't think there will be much demand on other platforms for the first one once the sequel hits. I also doubt the exclusivity agreement would expire before a sequel hits.
Also, by the time titanfall comes out, there wont be a huge difference in install bases by then. Most analysts are predicting them to be about even with a slight edge for one or the other. My guess is neither will fill demand until well into next year, so initially it will be about whoever can supply the most.
