Forums - Gaming - Three reasons why the PS4 is the console to purchase.

As well all know Sony have some great first party studios and also some great 3rd party studios who produce exclusives for their consoles. Games such as Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, Last of Us, Heavy Rain, Gran Turismo, Infamous, Little Big Planet, God of War just to name a few. While Microsoft have Titanfall, Halo and Forza and also Dead Rising 3. Other than that they really dont have a lot unless you like Fable or Ryse and to boot Titanfall will certainly make it to PS4 eventually as its published by EA and we all know how much they enjoy making money.

So the three reasons are

1: First Party Exclusives

2: Playstation Plus

3: Continued Support well after the console has served its purpose.

Now the third reason is the most important, Fifa 14 was thelast game for PS2 and Sony are still releasing games for the PSP 9 years on. And the PS3 is getting Gran Turismo 6 and 10 more exclusives next year. What has the Xbox 360 had recently? How long did the Xbox original last for? Exactly, buying a PlayStation gives you continued support.

Now fair enough if you like Forza and Halo but if they arent enough for you, then purchase a PS4 because even though the launch is weak itll get stronger as the years pass buy, plus its more powerful and cheaper.

Does anyone remember the PS3 launch?? Undoubtedly the 360 had the better launch lineup but now what would you say, the Xbox 360 or the PS3 has better games?

So go buy a PlayStation 4 unless you are in a major rush for Titanfall or a Halo and Forza fan.

Why is PS Plus a reason to buy a PS4?

When you think my english is bad...sorry for my bad english,    i'm from Germany. And yeees, sorry, that we've almost destroyed the whole world, blahblahblah

Nice opinion, I see where you are coming from and I also see the points you have made are quite well thought out ;P
But just know that this is your opinion and it should not be taken as fact. Don't shame people for disagreeing with you though just let them be, but I would see myself agreeing with you on this matter so be happy in know that you are not alone in your thoughts.

I would say the Free games that you get are extremely worth it, but that is just me. Do you not see any value in PS+?

Yea I see where you are coming from and im very interested in hearing someone who is getting the Xbox One, sadly I dont know anyone who is

I will give a short list of why I will be getting an Xbox one instead.

1. Both sides have done some nice marketing to keep their consumers with them as they move to new generations. Things like MS' gamer score which they will be using in order to give discounts down the road. though that isn't a seller for me, What I do have on my mind is the loads of digital games I have bought on xbox live, as for disc based games they are not backwards compatible on either side , but I do think I will be able to retrieve my purchased digital content (somebody confirm this if possible please). Another thing is my current Xbl subscription that will last a little over a year.

2. Call of duty Ghost: That is basically the only thing I play (I did take a break to explore GTA5 but I'm back on cod. again.) Xbox will have the largest available players in america (the overall sales does not matter, I cannot play against japanese or australian people online) I trust the online service that MS has offered for years and I am curious why you say playstation plus is a reason.

3. Kinect 2.0: We are at a graphical bridge. I do not think anyone wouldn't agree that this will be the advancement in generations that we see the least amount of graphical improvements from the predecessors. The days of being amazed by graphics are a thing of the past. with Kinect 2.0 offers, I see a bright future in a wide range of things I can do with my box unrelated to games but still are very cool.

4. Not a selling point but a cool feature. the ability to capture anything on screen. that combined with the ability to be a pass through display with anything with and HDMI connection makes for some good high def capture from a wide range of stuff. (finally the cod videos in my vault can see the world or vice versa)

5. Controller preference: I won cod tournaments on the 360 and got beat in the 1st round of a ps3 tournament from an average player because my big hands couldn't do anything with the toy of a controller design the ps3 had.

6. Titan Fall. I don't get much games but this one is a must have for a long running cod fan like myself. It's a cute idea that it will come to the PS4 later but I have two problems with that. *we don't no how long after it's xbox release in march it will take before it lands in the lap of PS4 owners, could be a few months, could be a year, could be never. * By the time that it does come it will be played out and the franchise will generally be considered an xbox thing. So just like call of duty, I expect to consistently see more people online on the xbox version.

I do agree with Kinect but honestly for gamers its not a selling point and Titanfall will be released on PS4 eventually and controller preference seems to be something that Sony have worked hard on, Dualshock 4 is a lot better than 3, feels a lot sturdier and more like a 360 controller while being PlayStation and HDMI is honestly pointless unless im running a PS4 through it haha ;) . Although Xbox One does have Halo and Forza and also it has tv streaming (ps3 and ps4 also have) but who the heck enjoys playing with Americans unless your Americans and also PS4 has Gaikai streaming. Enjoy your Xbox One though and ill be playing Titanfall on PC and yea to be honest the Xbox One has improved a lot since launch but Uncharted 4 is just too tempting for me.

2014 for Xbox 360:

- Titanfall
- Project Spark
- Fable Anniversary

and the 360 is 1 year older than the PS3 already. So wake me up when Sony announce such games in 2015 for the PS3.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...
