Forums - Gaming - Xbox One: 1080p 60 FPS Performance Not Capable Of Matching PS4 Hardware

Tagged games:

These threads are getting old fast. Both machines are capable, buy whichever one you prefer and enjoy playing the damn games instead of getting into these ridiculous pissing contests about which 1080p is minutely superior.

Haven't seen anything top Ryse yet on the PS4 side(Personal opinion.) If that's what the X1 is capable of at launch, good enough for me.

Too bad Ryse is an exercise in "Style over substance".   More effort has clearly went into the graphics and presentation than has went into the gameplay, and all the gameplay videos show this.  IT looks as bland and generic as can be; if it wasn't an absolutely gorgeous game made by a major developer, it'd be relegated to the bargain bin within a month.

And I honestly think Killzone looks better.

My Console Library:

PS5, Switch, XSX

PS4, PS3, PS2, PS1, WiiU, Wii, GCN, N64 SNES, XBO, 360

3DS, DS, GBA, Vita, PSP, Android

These story of who can do 1080p at 60 fps is ridiculous. Even PS360 can do 1080p at 60 fps easily! It's just a matter of deciding if you want resolution or framerate or more effects on the screen. A 30 fps game allows the double of the time to render a frame and a 720p game has half of the pixels being rasterized than in a 1080p one. Developers lower the resolution and framerate to achieve more effects, objects, lightning sources, etc on the screen.

In a fixed spec machine we always will have the option for these kind of trade-offs. Probably 1080p will be more common than 60 fps, since it results in a visual improvement that is very clear for the user. Now, 60 fps? That won't be that normal. Most users don't care when the game isn't a race sim or fighting game.

About the performance, the info we have is that PS4 has a better GPU and faster memory. So, of course, games will run better on it. It won't be much of a difference, I think we can expect things like 45 fps vs 60 fps, 1080p vs 900p or PS4 versions with more objects on screen or slightly better lightning or textures. For what I have seen by now, it won't be that game changer, but it will be visible. The most important for Sony won't be the more powerfull hardware, it will be the US$100 difference. That is what people care.

Have you actually played it?

I did and I disagree with your statement.

These threads need to stop and the creators moderated. They are pure flamebait.

We have received several threads of the same damn topics how many times already?

Omfg what is the problem, don't we have like 100 of xbox bashing PS4 glorifying threads already? I'm not even a microsoft fan but this is getting out of hands.

Just enjoy your console of choice, you're not swaying any xbox fans by these threads. They are getting xbox for exclusives and because their friends are getting one as well.

It's not bashing. It's a reality.

Is saying that wii was more powerful than 360 bashing wii ?

Well, duh. You gotta take some graphic/performance compromises to achieve the same "goal" it being 1080p 60FPS on depending on the hardware you have.
It doesn't really warrant a thread, it's a type of thing that is obvious to anyone possessing logic.
