Forums - Sony - Brasil Game Show: Sony Conf (Live - GT6 Ayrton Senna Special Edition MEGAGON CONFIRMED DLC of his career)

Today at 8pm localtime (10pm GMT) Sony will make his conference at Brasil Game Show 2013 (I will attend the event on Sunday, 27)... so what the VGC Brasil community expected today night?

What we know?

  • P$4k will be showed (it will be playable at the event) togueter with the bullshit price from Sony Brazil.
  • A lot of wordsheets to try to explain a liar (R$4k)
  • The Brasil PS+ detailed: price, games, etc
  • The Sony BR plans for Vita, PS3 and PS4

What the rumors says?

  • Some GT6 big stuff related with the legendary SENNA
  • Some bundle/deal or price cut for P$4k

What we expect?

  • A new PS4 price... that's what everybody is talking today here (well in games because the Pato's penalty is the shocking news today to be fair I was cheering for Gremio because that increase the chances of my loved team enters in Libertadores)

Here a exclusive picture of the P$4k Brasilian model.

That should be a slaughter :D

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

Thats a bit harsh isnt it? You aren't happy about this are you.

I thought they had explained the PS4 price was mainly tax recently? I expect a round of boos on the price announcement (unless its an invite only audience)

So are you still expecting some kind of reverse psychology marketing stunt? Where a new lower high price feels better than the previous high higher price?

Press invite only with livestreaming.

But the BGS is opened to public on Saturday-Tuesday and there are a lot of planned protest with clown nose to be made inside the Sony BR booth.

And I think it will happen... the Brazil is doing a lot of protest because World Cup visibility and bad government.

Even I tried to buy a clown nose... if I see guys with it at BGS I will use too

There are rumors about a price cut already but I don't expect anything below R$3000.

I hope they reconsider the price but, I'm very sure they aren't going to do so.

I hate to have this hobby, in this countries, it is quite expensive

"I've Underestimated the Horse Power from Mario Kart 8, I'll Never Doubt the WiiU's Engine Again"

Not going to BGS this year.
Last year was a real test of patience. Three-hour line wait to just ENTER the expo building and an average 2-hour line wait in every stand. R$ 25 cheeseburgers.

I really hope they improve services and organization this year.

Went last year and really enjoyed it.

But.. not sure people should be mocking Sony for the price, it's mostly??? not their fault right? Perhaps people should be blaming the government for their crazy import taxes, not expecting companies to sell at a loss.

The price calculation is petty much correct. They used a 25% state tax rate where I think most states are around the 18% range. The whole thing is geared towards making gamers, and people in general, angry against the horrible taxing laws in Brazil (which change almost on a weekly basis depending on your insider contacts it seems). Sony is fully aware that they won't sell more than "a few for the rich" consoles. They have every interest in getting people angry against the government because they import a lot more than consoles at crazy tax rates. Lower taxes due to public pressure would significantly increase business chances for Sony (and any other electronics manufacturer). I'm pretty sure Sony has already made the plans to assemble the PS4 at their PS3 plant in Manaus (if not there's a guy to be fired instantly). However, starting end assembly in a foreign territory is not something you start from day zero with brand new stuff, first you find out the quirks that happen at your regular plants.

I agree with this article.

Cant read link.. I'm english :)

But I understand what you have bolded, if Sony want to be competative they need to make it locally, but I can see why they dont want to, its extra cost/resources when you can ship it in. Brazil taxes are crazy, and it's unfortunate that they do it. Of course for people locally it must be horrible that you cannot buy stuff imported without paying large amounts of tax as thats depressing :(

I guessed you can because "Went last year and really enjoyed it"... sorry I did for the confusion.

They say the consumer have nothing to do with the fact that Sony Brasil can't deal with goverment... it is Sony Brasil fault... MS instead make a better deal with the goverment... so that reflect the difference between prices.

"It seems that Microsoft has done the homework study tax more efficiently [than Sony]."

Another issue is that just because now the PS4 is officially here the taxes for import almost double... if Sony didn't release the console here the tax for import will be way less (I'm talking about Consumer import).
