I wonder how graphically killzone shadow fall would have looked if was developed/rendered @900p resolution.. But i guess Sony main agenda was to hit 1080p no matter what.. As for MS i guess it was to look on par or better from PS4 at whatever resolution it might be..

Enjoy..

Nice. This is better

u just did not... ok, lets

Uh Oh. Gameplay alert..... gameplay alert.

Oh yeah. I just did. La da da da da DAH. La da da da da DAH.

Gotta love when gameplay looks the same as Cutscene. Exactly the same.

wow u really think thats gameplay!?... Now i feel so stupid, for having this conversation with u.. nothing left for me here!

It has Killzone now?

I hope not, way too claustrophobic and linear for me.

No.. it has Ryse and Forza.  Thanks.

this just proves you havent seen any of the new gameplay since E3.

Maybe.  But when you are turned off a series its hard to turn it back on, the camera always seems to be a very narrow field of view to me.  Now go and pick up on the guy saying Ryse is all QTE for the same thing.

I still think Ryse is the best looking game coming.

Genuine question, have Crytek show anything so suggest its not the QTE fest it was at E3, is there at least the possibility to die now, or can you really still win by not pressing anything at all like at E3?

I think you are confusing it with another recent game....

Ryse: Son of Rome looks beautiful and feels slick. It may just be one of the Xbox One's "killer apps".

Nice cherry picking. Here's another side of the story.

Ryse: Son of Rome looks to be sinking

Microsoft likes Ryse: Son of Rome enough to put it in Monday's press conference. If my hands-on time was any indication of the final product, there's no reason to be so keen on it. Despite having only five minutes with the game, it didn't do much to impress.

The demo that I was given was the exact same segment that was shown during the briefing. It was useful in that it displayed the mechanics behind the fighting system, and probably gave a good indicator as to how the game will be structured.

The combat doesn't appear to be overly deep. Face buttons are assigned for striking, shield bashing, parrying, and initiating executions. The movement and fluidity wasn't quite as clunky as I had anticipated, but it was by no means smooth. It felt nothing more than serviceable.

One of the most eyebrow-raising aspects from the press conference was the amount of supposed quicktime events in the game. The developers took particular care to explain to me that these weren't true quicktime events, but rather an execution that was entirely optional and helped the player progress. A failed execution has no consequence, but a successful one comes with perks such as added health.

Despite their insistence, they were totally quicktime events. Worse yet, their inclusion (complete with the contextual buttons) was a constant blemish on an otherwise beautiful game. Each time an execution was begun, it focused the camera on that particular unfortunate subject, completely ignoring any other enemies that had been engaged. It's a situation that we've seen enough, and has never been great.

Ryse also seems to be very unimaginative in its structure. The demo consistently bottlenecked the player into the next narrow setting to engage the enemies in a completely pre-determined way. Maybe this was just for the purpose of the demo, but it feels as if the game could utterly negate any freedom that the player has.

For what it's worth, Ryse looks great. It doesn't come as much of a surprise given that it runs onCryEngine 3. Crytek has a stunning game on its hands with regard to visuals, but graphics don't make a great game.

There probably isn't a whole lot of time before Ryse: Son of Rome makes its appearance on Xbox One. Hopefully something comes out soon to quell these problems. As is, there's not a whole lot to look forward to.

Great article bro.

The facts mister op dude are that resolution doesn't show power. Its up to the developer to choose what looks best for the game.

people throw numbers around. Throw resolution around. Thankfully the industry has noticed with ryse its the end result that matters. Which is why ryse is getting so much visual praise. And that is with crytek getting xbox one code late. Imagine what is possible on xbox one if crytek had a proper length of dev time with xbox one?.

we will find out as the next ryse is based in old England. The knights. Hopefully the knights of the round table. That game will be 1080p native and look far superior to ryse son of Rome.

on a different nots. I hope 343 i halo 5 looks alot better than launch fps's. Because they look great but just not humph. Then again this is 343i. What they achieved with halo 4 was simply astounding.

while resolution isn't a direct show of power, it is still a good indicator: that being said, i would play the crap out of the next Ryse if it was set in medival England...

That's from the footage running on PC though. If you take the challenge, don't cheat.

The particles in Resogun demands even more calculations.

Remedy said its running realtime on Xbox One.

Can't play Killzone or Uncharted on a PC.

The More You Know.

can't play halo or fable on ps4...can't play starcraft on xbox one. what exactly has this to do with the power of different systems used to play games?

if an exclusive game won't be on the platform you own it is unnecessary how much more powerful your system is. you still can't play the game and if graphics and in this case resolution are so important for someone to have the best looking multi-plat games he will be already a  pc gamer most of the time. i mean, who exactly isn't already a pc gamer who thinks 1080p is such a difference compared to 720p? how could these people who think 1080p is so important have fun with their ps3 or xbox 360?

that's why power doesn't really sell consoles. the mass market doesn't really care too much about it, the biggest graphic "whores" own a gamer pc and the small rest (like some console only gamers in gaming forums)  is pretty unnecessary for the success of a system.

i would like to have a stronger xbox one and also a stronger ps4 but i don't really think that this will really sell more ps4s. price, games library, online service, marketing and stuff like that will be important in the next years, not if bf4 will run in 1080p on ps4 and 720p on xbox one. most who find this really important have a pc and didn#t play bf3 in 720p or whatever it has on ps360.

The Xbox One devkits at E3 were a lot stronger than the final hardware: http://gamerant.com/e3-2013-xbox-one-demos-windows-7-pcs/

yes they said it was a scene running in engine on Xbox one ... key word "scene"... but so was battlefield 4, Killer instict and Ryse were running on Xbox one and were suppose to b 1080p. Like i said still it doesnt even come close to what Deep down and Beyond two soul (the dark sourcers) engine can manage

This is how a gameplay should look like

Way too much "Ha Ha", "Lol", "LMAO" and even an unprecedented "La da da da DAH" in this thread. What am I missing?

I'll just toss in a "Skiddle liddle fiddle dee" and leave the thread. Have fun with your mini flame war, guys.

You know when you start to see the LMAO and LOLs being shot arcross the fanboy bows, that the thread is going downhill.  I must say that I have not seen La da da DAH used in fanboy warfare so thats a first.

I may be new to this site but I know the scent of flame bait.

IMO games stopped looking "Amazing" years ago, honestly, who is still amazed at anything after crisis?

And this whole res thing doesn't mean much, WHo honestly believes a 1080 cod looks better than a 900 ryse?

who here can count pixels?

Oh and the posting of uncomfirmed numbers such as 720 on the bone's ghost and titan fall and convieniently leaving titles off your list that were comfirmed 1080 shows obvious siding.

^Yes that's me ripping it up in the GIF. :)

Man, people taking stupid pills lately. It does make for some adorable, hilarious reading though.

Yes, I am sure cboat is right. In an industry where we constantly see consoles do amazing things as time goes by, we've basically seen the Xbox One tapped out at launch. I mean, it already has the best looking launch game imho, and another game that runs at 60fps and hits 1080p, but hey, some cross-gen multiplatform titles are rumored to be having issues so that means anyone who buys the Xbox One will be stuck with crap looking games. Just adorable.

The best part, is where are these impressive looking PS4 games? There is only one at launch, and it's a generic corridor shooter sequel in Killzone 6. Yay? LOL. These multiplatform games that are all supposed to be looking and playing way better on PS4, where are they? IGN showed Ghosts all week and holy crap, are we sure they weren't playing on PS3 and just didn't know?
