Sony:

Nintendo:

That's all the reason I need to get both systems.

Sony doesnt have JRPG's. (First party) Nintendo does.

Pretendo need to get knocked out with some good ol Nintendium

PS3 had the most JRPGs out of all the home consoles this gen.

And it substantially less than last gen^ Infact they're all franchises. When it comes to JRPG's no sony console can touch the PS1.

Meanwhile Nintendo has most of the industry leaders who made RPG's relevant in Japan working for them or they're putting their games on the system.

Nintendo > Sony
1. Profiting from gaming division
2. Iconic franchises
3. Reliable hardware

Sony > Nintendo
1. Garnering 3rd Party support
2. Packing features into hardware
3. Online

Oh this thread can only go horribly, horribly wrong. Might as well add fuel to the fire.

Sony > Nintendo

1. Shorter name
2. Less syllables
3. Easier to spell

Nintendo > Sony

1. Japanes-y
2. More syllables
3. Twin plumber brothers high on shrooms.

The number of JRPGs on the PS2 compared to the PS3 is irrelavent, I was comparing the PS3 to the 360 and Wii.  Also umm no sony console can touch the PS1?  You do know the PS1 is a Sony console right?  Also if your refering to the JRPGs on the DS or 3DS, that is irrelavent because in my post I was comparing home consoles.  If you wanna include handhelds then you might be able to make an arguement, but for home consoles the PS3 blew the Wii away in terms of JRPGs.

Its consequence^ It also has nothing to do with Sony :p

Sony:

1.-The variety of genres
2.-Great 1st party
3.-The good third party support bringing them Kingdom Hearts to their consoles.

Nintendo:

1.-Zelda
2.-Having Monolith Soft
3.-Pokemon!!!

Nintendo>Sony
1. Handheld franchises
2. Knows how to maintain a series (and yes that's a good thing)
3. Support couch co-op

Sony>Nintendo
1. A ton of new IP every gen
2. Best volume of quality first party exclusives

All or most of which are defunct, to be fair. Nintendo history is littered with one-off or low-profile JRPGs as well (Mother comes to mind), though not quite so many

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
