In the end it's a turn based rpg with a lot of depth. Sad is a little bit wrong here. If you are afraid of other people opinions of you if you play a game like that it's not our problem. |
I don't care about others opinions, it's just personal taste
i don't find playing as children and going around catching and fighting cute furry animals appealing but like I said its just me
while it does have some depth in the rpg aspect...it's still way to dumbed down for me

The story has always been childish, with friendship and respect for your pokémon as the main theme. But the online, with all the stats/strategy etc.. bringing this into rated battle and with the collecting, catching/evolving/breeding all pokémons, thats what's hardcore. I can guarantee you that few 10years old play as deep as the hardcore adults.
But I will have to say that the ''rivals'' were a HUGE letdown for me. Stupid Shauna is no rival, she's like ''oh, I'm so happy to be your rival cause your such a good friend''... I miss the cocky rivals from past game that treats you like dirt, he felt intimidating and talented even when I usualy had few problems beating him. Shauna only seems like a noob trying to learn from you again and again and that is super lame.
The others are no better, a dancing fat ass, a coward geek and a useless little girl. Worst is that the two girls has the other two Kalos starters, but the geek and the fat ass did'nt get any serious pokémon, I was sure they would both get the two other original starters, but nooo.
I also thought team flare with all their ''oh, look at us, we are so stylish'' bullcrap was also lame. But I did like the final team flare moment.
What?! I can't hear you over all this awsome! - Pyrrhon (Kid Icarus:Uprising)
Final Ultimate Legendary Earth Power Super Max Justice Future Miracle Dream Beautiful Galaxy Big Bang Little Bang Sunrise Starlight Infinite Fabulous Totally Final Wonderful Arrow...FIRE! - Wonder-Red (The Wonderful101)
I would really like to learn how exactly a Pokemon MMO would work, anyway. With X and Y's Player Search System, it's as close as it needs to get. Actually having other trainers running around and fighting you would be, quite frankly, a horrible idea, unless they significantly reworked how the game is played.

Be sure to record the results for posterity.

While I don't know what smogon is, I would gladly discuss it with anyone which disagrees in person instead...

Crazy lol. Pokemon is one of the most if not the most competitive Handheld game ever, most people wouldn't understand unfortunately. Ask any person that plays pokemon competitively or just go to smogun website. Pokemon looks alot different then way it its really played. Pokemon>>>>COD in terms of competitive play difficulty. Trust me its hard

And a real scenario, great interactions, multiple endings, not fake difficulty (strategy, not farming), ...
In fact, SMT and Pokemon have nothing in common.

The fact that Pokemon isn't more "hardcore" or in HD on the WiiU or anything else is not a choice made by Nintendo but by Gamefreak. if you can't stand it then don't play 10 hours of it next time. |
Nintendo owns the IP, game freak develops it. do you think Game freak wouldn't make the game for PSP/iPhone if they owned the rights? it's a money maker.
and they develop exclusively for Nintendo because other than Pokemon, they can only make Soretei horse and Harmoknight. no offence to Game Freak.
