I'm really tired of the Next-Gen. All that hating is getting ridiculous. Now I could just get away from vgchartz, gaf or the internet altogether, but it's friggin' EVERYWHERE. Even when I leave the house, some friend will start talking about the new consoles. And it doesn't really matter which one. When I say that I have the PS4 pre-ordered, it's either "I hate you, that console sucks!" or "Yeah, me too, because Xbox sucks so hard!"

And then there are the discussions about useless stuff nobody really gives a crap about. Which console is louder, oh hey the PS4 needs 21 seconds to boot that's terrible, blah blah blah. Stop it already! I mean, is there nobody hyped anymore? Is everybody just hating? Back in the days, I never compared new consoles to some competitors when they released. I was just pumped as hell to get that sucker! I didn't even care for launch titles, the magazine said "Nintendo 64" and I knew I had to get that sucker even though I did know NOTHING about the hardware or anything. I don't know to this very day what hardware was inside the console. And it still was a blast. I think all that comparison started with the PS2. But I don't know if that is because of the internet and/or a changing market or if it is just me getting older and looking different at those things. 

Whatever, my hype for the PS4 is pretty much dead right now. I don't even want it anymore. Every time I see some news there are tons of comments bashin the other side with silly arguments. I know that I myself also made some jokes about the Xbox, but it was never that bad, really. I'm still gonna get the console, because it is already pre-ordered and paid and stuff, but I don't think I will play it on the first day. I just don't want to. It's really sad for me. The battle between Sega and Nintendo was really bad back in the 90s. But it's nothing compared to the cluster shitstorms going on right now. 

I got a little better on vgchartz lately, but I swear the next time I hear some shit about how Plus is better than Live or how GDDR5 is da futurez or how gaming wihtout Kinect won't be possible or anything my head will just explode. I don't see hype, I just see hate. And it really turns me off. Come on, why are you buying a console? Because you like it? Or just because you dislike some other console? Really really think about that question for a while. 

And don't even start with PC Fanboys. I can't hear no "Im not gaming below 8K, it's not core" or "My hardware is faster than 300 PS4s" no more. Nobody cares. A fast PC doesn't make you a better person, it's the same with expensive cars or smartphones. If you buy that stuff just to brag about it on the internet, you are really pitiful.

I also don't really want to whine too much, because you can't do anything about it anyway. But sometimes you just have to share your mind, right?

I largely agree with the OP. The console war, all the hate and all the extreme overexaggerated fanboyism and company idolatry takes away a lot of the fun about next gen.

Not many on the internet are discussing games in depth, it's mostly about yelling passionate fans zealously just trying to convince others and promote their brand of choice.

Nope I am not influenced by stuff like that. There is another reason why I am not exited about next gen its called Oculus Rift it literally destroyed any desire I had, to own a console. Sadly Oculus is not ready yet to be a real alternative so I gave up on gaming until Oculus hits the consumer market. I am now a PC only guy. I dont have the time to play all the the games so I just focus on making the time I play games as impressive as possible and PC is just the best platform for that. So I can see the technology evolve at a faster pace than I could on a Console.

thats the fun a new generation brings with it, and im sure there will be many more surprises to come.

Well this is the real first generation where everyone from everywhere in the world as an o9inion. It 7sh t jyst gaming. Music, movies, anything. Opinions counts more than ever. When the onky things real us that the world us a poirer place to be in and we now care more than ever to hate for the sake of it. Enjoy the console and games you choose to because there will always be more people hating it than like it.
