IGF Front-Runner Now Available for Pre-Purchase, Includes Orange Box Soundtrack

February 11, 2008 - Audiosurf, Dylan Fitterer's innovative new title that
allows gamers to "ride their music," is now available for pre-purchase via
Steam.
Audiosurf on Steam will include The Orange Box soundtrack, integrated with the
game to enable "Still Alive" surfing and more. In addition, Audiosurf is one of
the first titles to leverage the recently announced Steamworks, offering full
support for the Steam Achievements that appear on the millions of Steam
Community profile pages.
The title, which is a favorite to win at this year's Independent Games
Festival, will be made available for play this Friday, February 15. Those who
pre-purchase prior to that time will save 10% off the regular price of $9.95.
Audiosurf is a music-adapting puzzle racer where you use your own music to
create your own experience. The shape, the speed, and the mood of each ride is
determined by the song you choose. You earn points for clustering together
blocks of the same color on the highway, and compete with others on the
internet for the high score on your favorite songs.

Interesting, I'll have to check that out.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Looks cool. Definitely a purchase for me.

Sounds great. Only $10, so why the hell not. The game should be fun with Children of Bodom, Dark Tranquillity, and Dragonforce. :D

Wow! Two mods in a short post ... sweetness!!!!

They say they can use your own music, what does that mean?
Can you use your own mp3s? If so I'd totally get this.
If not this just looks like another DDR/Beat Mania/Guitar Hero type 'hit the button at the right timing' music games.

crappy old school NES games are more entertaining than next-gen games.

Ya, you can play any mp3, wma, ogg, probably some other formats too.

It seems like some songs turn out better than others...but damn if this doesn't look like a great time-waster, for only $9.  Plus...you get the Orange Box soundtrack packed with this game.  PRE-PURCHASED!

The simple one-color mode looks like great fun.

Metroid Metal Song: Space Pirates

Hey the Donkey Kong underwater theme.
Seems like the timing and notes are kinda off and random in that video?
But for 8.95 + OB soundtrack I'm gonna get this.
