Impossibru. Kudos to sony. I hope this marks a new era for playstation systems in USA.

It would mark a return to the glory it once enjoyed, if the Xbox brand didn't exist. However, even though I do believe they'll beat the X1 in the US for the gen, I don't think they'll reach PS2 numbers there.

PS2's number was just insane. None can beat it. But compared to launch who thought this would be possible. PS3 had a big peice tag and had limited games. Compared to that time sony improved a lot.

Correction, 3DS is the best selling console.

PS3 is the best-selling home console :) slight difference

Impressive for both parties nonetheless

Very impressive, it's seems Sony is slowly learning how to crack the US market again.
But as long as Microsoft has the power of CoD on its side the 360 and probably future Xbox products will remain ahead of Sony in the American market.

If the pre-order numbers are to be believed, CoD won't have the same impact next gen. In fact, price alone will make sure of that, as the PS4 is already ahead (again, going by pre-order data, and not just VGC).

That's kind of premature to state CoD won't have the same impact next gen as it has this gen based on preorder numbers alone. I'm not saying your wrong by no means, but going through a console transition is going to have an effect on software like CoD, AC, BF.

Next year I feel you'll definitely be able to make that assessment.

As far as the US goes in terms of consoles it's gonna take a few more deals on Sony's part to at least make the Xbox Vs. Playstation War(in America) an interesting conversation. Nonetheless I'm happy to see the GTAV bundle work out for Sony and slightly upset to see the margin of error on VGC.

Well that never stopped MS to say "30th in a row best-selling..."

I'm sorry but I don't understand your point.

I simply stated that the 3DS was the best selling console and the PS3 was the best selling home console as per NPD and that both parties should be happy.

You are right and that didn't stop MS do forget 3DS too... 3DS was the best hardware in a lot of months.

CoD will probably slow down a bit.  Can't expect an every year title to remain strong forever.  Tony Hawk, Guitar Hero, and other titles have fallen.  I think though, that the point was CoD won't remain as strong to MS cause people might be shifting to PS4 over XB1 cause of price. That's the way I read it.  Maybe I'm wrong??

the constant complaining about sony fans done by xbox fans is getting rather pathatic, and to a much more extent filled with hypocrisy. you complain about no quality posts in xbox threads where your posts are just posts that attack other users (sony fans) or the exact same posts you complain about.

I think you are confusing me with someone else.

OT: So VGChartz overtracked them both quite a bit this month.

PS3 deserves it. Very nice.
