This game does indeed look truly amazing...with Watch Dogs out of the picture, Chrimbo is looking sorted.

Ouch! That poor Goomba is about to get his head sliced open. I don't think I can stand this much graphic violence in HD.

To be fair, the first trailer at E3 did look lazy and subpar. It screamed uninspired and generic. The game has really come together now.

But that thread was made after the last Direct trailer :)

Okay, I wouldn't know. I'm glad it's looking to be a quality game now. Really looking forward to playing it with my buddies.

ok I was skeptical about the wii U but this is making me want a wii U right now.. This game is making me want the next gen giants less.

I wonder if Nintendo can now start to turn their fortunes around with the wii U?

Do you guys not realize that developers make certain games.  Nintendo has a team that makes Mario games.  That's what they do.

When they are done with a Mario game, they start developing their next mario game.  There is no switching around.  You don't spin a board with franchises on it and make whatever game you land on when you come in, or go to the board and say "i want ot make this game".  No you start making the next mario game.

There are some developers that Nintendo has that does do other projects, such as Retro, but you won't see the Mario team making anything else.

Just like you won't see the Killzone team up and start making a Little Big Planet game after Killzone goes gold.  They will start on some new FPS or the next Killzone.

Glad you hate my opinion. That's constructive. And btw, teams do get put on to different projects all the time. Monolith did Disaster: day of crisis then Xenoblade then X. Next Level Games has done several different genres. What similarities do Smash Brothers and Kid Icarus: uprising have? Even EAD Tokyo did not start on Mario but on DK Jungle beat. The only truly dedicated team is probably the eponymously named Zelda team.

You as well huh? Let me reiterate. I did not say I don't like Mario. In fact I said the game looks fantastic. I did not even say that EAD Tokyo should make something else instead. I simply mentioned that at this point in time I would rather play something like the 3 aforementioned titles. Sorry you are sick of my attitude (opinion),but it is mine.
